I can’t see how that would guarantee anything. A collapse here when it really just starts to count and missing the postseason again would be very bad for his job security.

Yeah, I think he is in the same shoes as Brownell. Produce or be gone after one more season. I think Monte's year is this year whereas Brownell's is next year.

Seems a bit unfair to Monte .. BB is going on year 13 and ranked 101 in the last 2 years (No NCAA or NIT). Is this year 5 or 6 for Monte (given half the rope).

Somewhat similar to football, baseball coaches are judged on Clemson history. Basketball coaches here don’t carry that burden. Not sure I would consider that unfair. Monte knew our history and expectations.
