He was a very good baseball player in high school and got drafted by some team, but I don't think he played any baseball at Clemson. He may have said early on that he wanted to play both football and baseball, but he never followed up on that.

I believe he came to Clemson as the #1 or #2 QB prospect in the country, and I believe it was Hatfield that quickly made him a DB. Guy was a genius.
