I did the leg work... I looked in volumes 1 and 2 of the TNet Dictionary, but I cannot find what the heck RAG means. Please help me. It's tough not being part of the popular crowd.

The RAG, or Reach A_____ Gang, was a name given to a style of poster noted for their use of sarcasm, humor, etc... in posts. When one of these posters shows up, others are soon to follow and they play off of each other, giving each other TUs the entire time.
No one is sure if it is an actual group, or a just name given to all posters with a particular style, but they are typically harmless, and beloved by the masses. If you ever come up with an accurate list of RAG members, you will be celebrated on Tnet for years to come.

This sounds like a Red Herring to me - "...and beloved by the masses".
Anyway, the clues can be misleading, so tread carefully.

i had to explain to tk that i was the average, full-blooded, all american heterosechtsual and his advances were unwelcomed.

I hear membership has its percs...
As for me, I do live in a basement, a certain TNetters mom sublets her bottom to me for a nominal fee. I enjoy it immensely.
It's a quite warm/cozy/spacious place - actually very spacious. She comes down quite often
As far as the RAG goes - I thinks she is a partial member - attends meetings several days monthly
