Dead last in NCAA golf

May 31, 2015, 3:09 PM

Despite challenges from Florida and Oklahoma today, we held on to clinch last place.

Disappointing. Was hoping for better. We seemed to start falling off once our facilities got better in golf actually which is strange

I'd offer the job to Jay Seawell. He'd turn it down, and then we'd go from there.

Jay Sewell is a coot grad. Really? We didn't have a bad year. Tied for first in the ACC championship and finished 5th in the NCAA regionals out of 14. I agree that the NCAA finals were a major disappointment but we still finished 30th in the country out of 350 NCAA golf programs. 4 out of 5 starters returning and 3 excellent recruits coming in this fall. 2016 should be an excellent year!

Yep, Jay and all his family are coot grads - great golf.....

family. Jay's wife is a Clemson grad and he helps Larry with his golf camps. Alabama did not have a good year either and did not make it out of the regionals. Larry has sure earned his place in history and I agree that next year ought to be much better.

we were great even when they were. we started getting guys on tour. had big fundraisers and got a clubhouse and van and other goodies. Seemed to lose the fire to be a national contender. It almost seems that we think "we're Clemson- we think we're better than that"

You could say it was 7483 yards of complete horror for three rounds from the tips for the Tiger Men's Golf team this weekend. If anything this team will have some mighty serious motivation going into next season after having the worst finish by a Clemson Golf team in 28 appearances in the NCAA tournament.
