$60 is outrageous for the baseball banquet

That's way more than it was last season. Hard to believe an event that started with Wilhelm grilling hotdogs by the stadium has turned into something so expensive.

And for a mere $1500 you can reserve a table for 8 and 2 players of your choice. Where do the players families sit? I have enjoyed meeting the players and their families in the past. The Duggar, Triller, Slaton, and Kreiger famalies to name a few. Will not be going this year. Today, the ticket office called and wanted to know if I was buying my same ticket this year. Don't know whether to be flattered or tickets are not exactly flying off the shelves.

I think ticket sales will be fine, maybe even up a little from the last 2 years.

In all, I like Lee and am optimistic about the program, but this banquet thing really rubbed me the wrong way. $60 is almost twice the cost of the tickets for Dabo's recruiting wrapup.

Parent of a former player here. This was always a great event to kick off the season. It was great to meet the new players, parents and fans. Just a nice family event. As I recall, it was only around $15-20 per person. $60 (minimum) is a bit ridiculous. The intent of the old event really wasn't fundraising. But, that's clearly what this one is about. I'm guessing here, but I suspect this is DRad's handiwork. Hopefully, they will sell enough tickets to pay Murphy's expenses.

I think it was around $25 but I can't find it anywhere online and can't remember that far back.
