The many Tnet fans who believe they are "entitled" to never loosing a game to a better team have taken over the bored.
Some kids today have no idea as to beginning life as an underdog and fighting their way to better.
Dabo does. I do.
Like many here who have seen hard times (like Abraham Lincoln (posts under the scock 'Go Orange Tigers') I am not dismayed.
I grew up in an excellent home even smaller than Abe's.

This Tiger team just played the best team in the USA. If you believe Vegas, every team in the new Coaches Poll out today would have lost and now be out of the top 20.

It's about being skulldragged for 4 quarters. We at last the last two.
It's about a lackluster offense that has been that way for years with no apparent improvement.
It's about losing to the closest FBS school to Clemson ever single time we play them and hearing their fans laugh at our program.

They made excuses for Bowden the same way. Anyone with a functioning cortex knew Bowden should have been fired after TTU blew clemson out but the sunshine crowd kept him around 6 more years. They're going to help Dabo finishing burying the program before he rides off into the $un$et.

Sorry Tatted, the TD was a scroll error (fat thumb). I owe you a few TUs. There were some busted plays but I think overall the team showed they can compete. IMO, the biggest cause is mainly a coaching issues. The Tigers got out coached at halftime, not always using the right personnel on offense, and didn't adjust on the fly.
The Tiger defense played mostly zone in the first half, UGA adjusted for zone coverage at the half. I was surprised there was so little man coverage and very few blitzes to disrupt the sweeps and get after Beck.

I think we did the best we could. The deal is teams that give up in a game (see FS yesterday). Tigers played hard all game.
Yes, things were not as perfect as we all (them) wanted, but the fire was there.
Most don't understand the difference in talent in this game. UGA has been mostly beating us all my life.
Because we did not have a few of those million dollar Nil players like FS, some slam.
Tigers are OK, this will be a great season.
When we meet UGA in the play offs, we will be improved. At many positions this is a young team that has guys and coaches there to get them up to speed.
I see this as a good team that will make the playoffs.
Folks who always expect to win every game are band wagon.

I recall my first year being a Clemson fan was 1962 as kid that had just started youth football. I never saw or was involved in a season that had 9+ wins until 1978 when the Tigers won 11. I was alive when they won 9 games in 1959 but too young to come close to remembering.
That was 16 years as a fan until the 1st season I remember with a 9+ wins and stayed a fan without a second thought. These young whippersnappers would flip out waiting that long.
We all waited 35 years between championships but didn't really complain much except when they fired Danny Ford and it became obvious Bowden was not going to win a big game. Then the Tigers won 2 championships in 2 years, survived COVID and now, according to some, the team and coaches have gone to hayel. SMH

44 times a Div 1 football team finished the season undefeated since 1975 and that was 25 different teams that went undefeated 44 times.
Since the CFP started in 2014, only 6 teams * have gone undefeated but only 5 of those undefeated teams were in the CFP.
* In 2017 season, UCF was undefeated but didn't make the playoffs and won their bowl game. Alabama with 1 loss won the CFP Championship in 2017 season.

No one expects Clemson to go undefeated each year.
Look at the last 3 years and tell me things are trending in the right direction. 34-3 to Georgia.
As it sits right now, Dabo cannot maintain a top 10 program due to the decisions he is making towards NIL and then not using the portal for depth.

UGA is not exactly a hot bed for transfers and this year is (if I recall correctly) the most they have brought in but they had several transfer out, many drafted and some lost eligibility. And you can only NIL as much as the money available or some is willing to pay.
While UGA's record was actually 42 - 2 the last 3 seasons Clemson's record was 30 - 10. But then again, during the 5 seasons, 2016 through 2020, the Tigers were 55 - 6 and UGA was 52 - 14.
To sum it up, it's been a comparable 8 year run by both UGA and Clemson. During the 2016 through 2023 seasons, UGA's record was 94 - 16 while the Tiger's record was 95 - 16.
No team stays on top forever, it's an ebb and flow. Relax and enjoy life and Tiger football. There's no need to stress over something you can't control or even influence. Life is too short and remember, it ain't over for the Tigers!

I'm great with 8-9 win seasons, heck maybe even a lowly 7 win season here and there, IF
-Dabo's pay drops to about $2M a year, and the staff salaries drop accordingly
-Ticket prices and IPTAY donation level requirements drop to where they were 10-12 years ago.
-We return to appreciating the longevity of long-time donors and stop courting corporate ticket holders with instant massive seat equity.
-We stop building pickleball courts, slides, and nappy rooms for the players because they clearly don't help, so save the $$$.
-In-state/out of state student ratios move from the current 50/50 to more like 70/30.
We do that, and you won't hear a negative word out of my mouth. Until then, if we are paying for a Ferrari, we shouldn't be thrilled with a Honda Accord.

do not remember what it was like to languish in the football doldrums year after year. They SHOULD be able to remember all the "##########" jokes at our expense under Tommy Bowden. Perhaps they think that now, Clemson is a "destination", and we could get anybody we want as a coach. They are wrong. Clemson is a unique place, with a unique set of circumstances. It took a unique personality like Dabo Swinney to bring out the potential of Clemson.
I hearken back to Dabo's presser when he was named Official Head Coach, after having the successful stint as Interim. He was asked something to the effect of, could he see Clemson becoming like the Ohio States of the football world. His answer was classic Dabo, when he said, "What I envision is for Clemson to become a program that THEY want to emulate." And, he accomplished exactly that.
Now, NIL and the Transfer Portal have completely shifted the landscape of college football. And, make no mistake, they ARE a tandem. I don't think the Transfer Portal would ever have caught on like it has if not for the riches that can be bartered via NIL and tampering. Dabo continues to do things his way. Some of you want to give up on him after one disappointing game. Go ahead, we will miss you for a minute. But, we will move on.

Absolutely! You will never get another Dabo. I really question anyone's sanity who thinks getting a new coach at this point is a good thing.
Look, they are stuck in a rut and the Georgia game was a reality check. The worst thing is for someone to keep doing the same thing over and over and justifying how everything's fine. The evidence is mounting that it's not fine. Dabo has taken chances in the past and struck gold, and other times missed. I support him and believe that he will do what is needed

My thoughts are that the Tigers are still a great program and could easily get 10 wins again this year. But what concerns me is their lack of growth on the Offensive side of the ball. They will never be able to compete with Georgia or other top 10 teams if they can't move the ball. I would put their offense easily in the bottom 20% of all D1 programs. Most MAC programs are more effective than what we've seen in recent years. The talent is there, but the results are not
