Players probably played a little harder before getting paid these ridiculous salaries as well, promise you there is a correlation. Not to mention the gap in pay between an offensive lineman and a “heisman” trophy quarterback.

If he made a $5M base salary and left the other $7M as bonus performance incentives, there would be extra effort. I don’t really understand why the coaches contracts are structured the way they are. You don’t get that fortunate 500 companies. Most of their payment is tied to stock options and performance incentives
