Is it bad recruiting that our Safeties and LBs don’t know where to go or when to start heading there?
If it is recruiting deficiencies that causes it, then all of our LBs and every Safety (excluding K.Barnes) have a severe learning disability. No matter how fast a player can run (and, yes, we have fast LBs and Safeities), they can’t get fast enough to the right place if they are running to the wrong place or just standing around.
Dear Dabo. Unless our LBs and Safeties are cognitively challenged, then recruiting is not our problem.
How about it? Focus on the coaching problem.

You’re misquoting. Dabo was 100% right when he made the statement. You’re picking 1 part of it and blanketing it over the whole thing. The types of players in the portal. 1 they’re out there shopping the highest bidder and they won’t win those guys. 2. the guys that weren’t good enough to start for their team and wanna go somewhere and start, those guys aren’t good enough to come here and play, he’d rather take a recruit and develop than take a junior who wasn’t talented enough to play where he was at then invest in a guy for 2 years.

Hopefully he ll talk about hitting the portal. All these teams without a HC. The players have 15 days to decide if they are entering the portal. Hopefully he's on the phone with kids from SC are Georgia. Bring some studs home from LSU etc.

Had he said this early in the season, I might have taken it as sincere. Back then, Dabo defended the losses by defending his past record and talking snarkily about ‘if you want me to go, then I’ll go. I’ll go coach somewhere else.’ That, IMO, was Dabo being sincere. That is how he really felt.
Waiting until the SMU loss to show genuine signs of concern, and THEN finally blaming himself, reeks of inauthenticity. Even now, he has to water down the ‘blame it in me’ message by citing the failures of poorly coached players on the players. He always says that our players work their tails off. The coaches seem to like what they see in practice from those who get the lion’s share of snaps. Do our coaches not recognize during practice that our players don’t know where to go once the ball gets snapped?
The entire 2025 train wreck is on the coaches. Especially Dabo for not figuring out early in the season that (some) of his key assistants are simply not good enough.

doesn't need to be joking in a disaster of a season like this, must be nice 12 million to fail at your job, also what exactly is the joke part? i dont get it.
dabo acts like its so absurd that a coach who was supposed to be in the title hunt this year but instead is 3-5 would get fired....i mean is that the "joke"?
Also i've noticed his new go to mean nothing phrase is "this is a part of our story".....yeah well it wont be for long if you dont change.

Vintage Dabo...superficial dialog at best. Granted, probably not the best time to get into the specifics of any change he may have in mind. As always, he does the right thing by taking responsibility. We'll see what this really means when the season concludes. We can only hope that in the meantime, he is picked up in a black limo to attend a mandatory a meeting with the boss of bosses at Clemson. An offer he cant refuse would be in order.

Summary: its all on me we cant get it done, we need to do everything better, i'm mad at the refs, me and neff were just joking around about getting fired in a 3-5 season. that just changing DC/OC coordinator without allowing the new DC/OC to pick (or have significant input) of all the subordinate/position coaches is a recipe for confusion, friction, and possible divided loyalties.
I guess we will see once this disappointing season ends...

Anyone who calls what we saw on Saturday's defensive play was led by a good coach is truly looking through orange colored glasses. I love Dabo but he is wrong with that comment in my opinion.

Your opinion is wrong. The problem is talent. Our players are simply too small and too slow. If you had Brent venables here you'd have the exact same problems. We simply have to get better players. There's no other way to fix it than that.

When Coach says it's all on me. He's absolutely right. He should've let the DC bring in his guys. That way, he doesn't spend the first year learning personalities and traits. Instead he hits the ground running. Unless Allen couldn't put a staff together. That's a possibility too...
