Dabo NEEDS to adapt though...............if he's not going to then he needs to step aside. He's just digging us into a deeper hole.
The ones who are IGNORANT are the ones who cling to the past and act like the world of College football is the same as it was 5 years ago...........it's COMPLETELY changed and not for the better IMO, however Dabo needs to utilize EVERY RESOURCE possible that EVERY OTHER FBS program uses to acquire talent and step down from his moral mountain and stop trying to prove a point at the Football program's expense.
I like Dabo, but NOBODY is bigger than the program. I've been a fan of Clemson a lot longer than Dabo has and graduated from Clemson unlike Dabo did..........I'll pick the program all day over an individual.

He will adapt. He’s shown it the last few years. He’s doing his best to keep some sort of base principles he believes in it is making adjustments each year. We will be fine in the long run. He will adjust as much as needed to compete and put a top tier team out there. He’s just trying his best to do it his way and he’s figuring out how to balance that. You can look at the Streeter firing and hiring the best OC in the nation, allowing summer OVs, offering more portal players than any other year this year. We all want instant results but we have to trust Dabo, I’d rather have a program I’m proud of than one like tOSU buying every player and tampering. We will eventually pay players upfront and once we do we will be back in the upper echelon, Dabo had to try it his way though. He sees it’s somewhat working but needs a little more evolving and he will.

Dabo slow plays all the necessary changes needed. Checking 1-2 boxes each year but constantly ignores the REAL issue which is his NIL and portal stance.
Now we’re to a point where the ONLY thing Dabo could somewhat cling to, which was High school recruiting, and he’s no longer the master at that because he gets outbid by the likes of Georgia tech.
Keep your head in the sand though.

They offered several OL in the portal last off-season. Dabo has already said if they need the talent they will look into the portal. It's also been the case that Clemson has not lost a ton of players early and stuck right at 85 with no room to ho actively looking, if it becomes known to players here you might open up that door where players on the team exit in masse. Covid imo had alot of effect on roster management. Should be a much more active off-season, i can see quite a few guys in the 2 deep leaving early for various reasons.

Dabo has a well publicized dislike for the portal. To portal guys, that translates as he doesn't like them personally. None of them in their right mind would transfer to a perceived unpleasant situation especially where they can't get up front NIL.
We sure could use them with our OL injuries and lack of depth.
Oh, and not only did Dabo whiff on those portal guys, but two of our OL guys transferred out after the Gator Bowl.
Those things are a bad combination, no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

To be fair, he is still 48-14 over the last 5 years. He is slow to adapt to change but I think he will get there sooner rather than later. He is stubborn but dumb like a fox.

Totally agree with your Kamala reference,but Dabo has to change. Clemson will not be able to compete by settling for fall back recruits and ignoring the portal. Absolute 💯 insanity!

I would say that this comparison is a fair one. Looking forward to the off season. Fairly certain that Dabo will not allow the ship to sink under his watch. Busted his #### for too many years building this deal up to walk away when things are tough.

My complaint is that they give Dabo the mic to promote NIL donations and he basically says just get us to July. Meanwhile, the rest of the Clemson coaches need NIL and are willing to use it but they don’t get that opportunity with the mic. Dabo knows he’s getting ~$17M and scholarships. All the others get about $3M in rev share to split up with basketball getting second priority. So he’s done his colleagues no favors minimizing the need to build an NIL reserve beyond next July. Would love to hear what Bakich and Noonan think about what happened on Tuesday.
