not a hint of a guy contemplating the NFL. Maybe he is open to an offer but I suspect he is happy here and why shouldnt he be

CDS does not seem like an NFL type guy, at all. I've been wrong before

It is interesting to think about for sure. Saban had NFL experience and still flamed out miserably there.

He’s not going anywhere. If there was anything to these rumors more outlets would be talking about it. No one else is even mentioning the rumors. Just a couple people here on T-Net that want attention

As we all know, a NFL organization (the non-coaching / administrative / finance aspects in particular) are radically different from college FB.

I’d call it akin to what American investors call the ‘tech’ industry. Software providers are very much different from chip developers / fabricators.

Any college FB coach with brains recognizes the vast difference between NFL head coach and college head coach. Indeed, there have been highly successful college coaches who made the transition to the NFL and still were highly successful. Jimmy Johnson immediately comes to mind; Jim Harbaugh might also be in that small also.
(*). It is noteworthy that the ‘successful’ college head coach that made the transition to the NFL has been associated with major cheating in college. Thus, there had superior semi-professional personnel in college to cover up for mediocre actual recruiting skills. (College FB head coaches cannot achieve excellence unless they have top shelf players throughout their roster. Also, even mediocre X & O college coaches cannot achieve excellence win big - reference Ed Orgeron.)

Dabo has mastered the college FB world; he has an agile mind and a terrific memory. Equally important, he is a top shelf recruiter. He also craves the master / apprentice relationship & environment which college players live in-and- goes hand in hand with recruiting. He knows how to motivate boosters to cough up enough money to allow Clemson to remain in the same solar system as those super wealthy schools.

These critical skills of Dabo’s are at best minimally important to the successful NFL coaches. Dabo knows this.

He’s mot going to throw away his best attributes in order to go to a very different part of the FB industry any more than the CEO of Nvidia would throw that away to become CEO of ####.
