Clemson wont disappear without Dabo

There is no way to prove that nonsense. Just because Clemson faded when Ford left, doesn’t mean it would happen that exact way again. That’s low IQ brain rot.

Clemson is an established brand that is close to if not a blue blood now. Yes Dabo is why, but Dabo’s choices recently are why the program slipped.

FSU won a title after Bobby. Countless other big name programs have success with different coaches. Some don’t. It’s not 1990 anymore. Clemson can win with another coach because they are Clemson.

Best case scenario for all involved would be for Dabo to just quietly use the portal to strengthen his roster and use the NIL to buy some 5 stars. After that, get rid of the dead weight on the staff and make more Matt Luke like hires.

This isn’t hard. Does Dabo have the humility to admit he was wrong and can’t just do whatever he wants because of how bad he had it when he was a kid?

This all could turn around so fast. Look at SC. In one year they went from hapless to maybe the playoffs after beating us at home.

Dabo has to stop gatekeeping. He’s slowly destroying his legacy and his program over nothing.

If you look at name brands schools like USC, LSU, FSU, Texas, Nebraska and others, they faltered after winning a natty which led to a coaching change. Some never recovered and all are no better off. History says we would be much better off if Neff guided Dabo to address the issues than pushing for a coaching which rarely leads to the success we expect

Must be a leftist. You have no idea what a cult is but I can tell you that supporting a coach is not it. Just because you can’t comprehend it does not in itself constitute it being a cult. Getting rid of Dabo without having a top tier replacement would be stupid, and would most definitely set us back. How is Bama doing?
If you don’t support the team or the coach go pull for someone else and save yourself the misery.

Florida and Nebraska say hello. The University of Florida (UF) experienced great success under coaches Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer.

On the other hand, Nebraska was incredibly consistent in winning many games and multiple national championships under Tom Osborne (they were also strong before him). But look at them now—they're bowl eligible with a 6-6 record for the first time in nine years.

As for Clemson, it seems they may fade away. Clemson is essentially similar to Auburn but has a better culture and foundation within its athletic department. Dabo Swinney is doing his best to hold things together. We could bring in another strong coach and still win, although that usually doesn't happen. Just look at Alabama’s decline after Nick Saban leaves, which is bound to happen soon. Remember how Alabama struggled after Gene Stallings left? While Stallings was successful, he was nowhere near the legendary status of Bear Bryant.

Clemson is a blue blood. We are top 15 in most wins ever. We have 3 natties. We have dozens of ACC championships/appearances. We get players drafted. But it can go away quickly.

What happens if some of the better players portal out? I don’t think you get it. He’s running out of talent, fast. He isn’t running out of arrogance and stubbornness. He has as much of that as he does money.

Shane Beamer is 2-2 against Clemson with 2 wins at DV. All is fine…

Thank you for your response, Captain Call. It's challenging to assert that someone is wrong when the discussion is based on speculation. While I could easily suggest that you might be mistaken, that wouldn't lead to any productive outcome. It's more effective to rely on past anecdotal evidence to inform our predictions. I shared one such example earlier in this thread, and it has been supported by numerous case studies. This isn't merely my opinion; it's based on historical trends. Of course, I acknowledge that I could be wrong, just as you could be. It's prudent to avoid disputing speculation with overly assertive arguments about right and wrong.

Fulmer at UT. Osborne at Nebraska. Bowden at FSU. Florida after Spurrier. Florida after Meyer. Bryant at Alabama (then after Stallings at Alabama). And it'll happen again now at Alabama now that Saban is gone. It's hard to have a dynasty and repeat the success with someone else. Heck, it's even hard for the same person to repeat the process. It's unreal how successful Bowden and Saban were for that many years, and even they didn't touch the consistency that Osborne had at Nebraska. The only program that was able to repeat success at the top level with different coaches was Miami. And that lasted in the 80s, with a ten year hiatus, and lasted about 4 more year and then they went to the wasteland for around 20 years.

I like to look at data and historicals to help me form what I think is going to happen.

USC Pete Carroll (left for NFL) 97-19 over 9 years. 118-67 since

Tennessee Phil Fulmer 147--45 over 16 years. 107-88 since

Nebraska Tom Osborne 255-49 over 25yrs (retired) & Frank Solich 59-19 over 6 years. 141-117 since

Alabama Bear Bryant 232-46 over 25yrs. Followed by 58-25 over 7yrs
Alabama Gene Stallings 70-16 over 7 years followed by 67-55 over 10yrs
Alabama Nick Saban 206-29 over 17 years. Too soon to tell but it aint looking great. DeBoer has 3 losses already, most Saban has was 3 in a year, once

Michigan Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller (on the down swing) & Llyod Carr 360-101 over 39yrs. Then went 46-42 over 7yrs. Harbaugh was decent and then became "great" after Stallions came aboard, since then well....at least they beat OSU LOL

So this tells me Michigan bucked the trend have 3 in a row but by in large once we move on from a HOF (yes HOF) coach the best we can hope for is 7-10yrs wandering in the desert. No thanks. I mean it could happen that upon a change we don't miss a beat, but history doesn't exactly indicate that is likely.

I don't disagree that changes need to occur and I hope they do so we don't actually have to worry about a HC search.
