I agree. Clemson is in the playoff this year.

We have the talent.
We have the coaches.
We have the schedule.
We have no bye-week opponents (again), no Notre Dame, no trips to CA, & 4 true road games.
The Georgia game is house money; we can afford to lose that game & now still control our own destiny to the playoff outright as the ACC title is simply determinant by rule, even if any games are cancelled for weather or tragedy.
Clemson is playing in the ACC title, make no mistake. The question is how much to bet today on Clemson winning that game in December.
I say bet the mortgage on Clemson getting to Charlotte, & bet the rest on Clemson winning the ACC & making it back to the College Football Playoff this year.

What if we randomly lose to NC State,/Miami/Duke tier teams again? That has been our Achilles heal of late…at least in terms of ACC title contention.

It seems unlikely is all

I hear you, I really do.
Counterpoint: We get NC State at home & after a bye-week (while they're coming off consecutive games against rival WCU, Tennessee & LA Tech). While Miami may be competitive this year (maybe), they're not on the schedule, nor is Duke (albeit I don't expect Duke to be nearly as competitive outright).
I'd add the anomaly has been Clemson not having a ten-win season for the first time in a decade last year & FSU having such a determinant transfer class, even if it was for only most of a single season.
The other ACC teams, for example, have to match or beat Clemson's record. Their schedules alone are all less favorable than ours, & our talent ranking is universally in the top-tier in the conference, not to mention the highest-paid coach in the sport, hiring the top-rated OC & now having a top-shelf O-line coach, notably as o-line has been an inescapable concern.
Can Clemson win as many ACC games as anyone else in the league this year? The schedule, talent & more suggest it's a relentlessly favorable bet this year is all I'm saying. To your point, if we can't win the ACC this year, I agree we're in big trouble, just saying I doubt it is all, know what I mean?

I agree, we totally should be in the ACC championship game! Just pointing out a potential risk.
We could lose to both UGA and FSU next year and still control our destiny for the playoffs!
It’s the random ACC games that make me nervous, not the top tier match ups!

It's great!
Next year, though, the whole roof comes off nationwide, including here at Clemson when we host LSU in the "battle for Death Valley" (so to speak).
The OOC games in week 1 of 2025 is something we've never seen anything come close to, to my knowledge, & it looks like it's also the start of a new trend for week-one matchups being remarkably huge.

Remember this

Remember this: we've never had an explicit rule to get into a championship before. Not once. Now we do (even if part of it is a bit ambiguous).
Winning the ACC is implicitly an auto-bid for the playoff. Getting into the top 4 of 5 makes it essentially count as two wins as we'd get a bye-week for the first round of the playoff, too.
If winning the ACC is such an inescapable outlier, & it's more clear-cut than ever thanks to the lack of divisions, the question for me is who will contend for it? Clemson may lose to some of the worst teams in the league, & while I sincerely doubt it, they'd still have to have two teams with a better in-league record is all, know what I mean? FSU, for example, hosts VT before Cal.
It could mean we face FSU twice (or even 3 times), but I doubt that for many reasons. It could be Syracuse in Charlotte for their remarkable schedule alone & the lack of divisions. But for me, I've got Clemson in the ACC title game for the most reasons, & that's why I think at least making that trip to Charlotte is a great bet right now & winning that game as a 50/50 guarantee for the playoff both by nature & by rule is hard to beat.
