Who would replace Goodwin, if Dabo makes a change?

Not saying he will make a change, but I think the consensus on the board is that Dabo probably will make a change at DC and it may happen prior to the bowl game. If that is indeed the case: 1- Who would you like to see at DC? and 2- Who could Clemson Reasonably get?

Clemson would have to pull an up-and-comer position type coach from D1, or go into D2 to find someone who kicks a**.
If we wanted D1 experience, I'd approach DJ Durkin from Auburn.
If we went the D2 route to acquire a stellar defensive DC Valdosta State (see their crazy stats in link below)
https://vstateblazers.com/sports/football/stats/2024?path=football
Just an option.

If stoudt doesn't take the job your guess is as good as mine. I remember alot of bad press on that Durkin fellow a while back. Didn't he run someone to death or something?

No small college coach. Gotta be a Power 5 guy from either Oregon or Ohio State. These "cheap" mid-major coaches are no match for the Big Boys.

We should start by only considering coaches who have actually been DCs before.

Wasn't Cowher working with Nancy St? Probably wrong, but I thought I heard/read about him "unofficially" helping with their program as an alum.

The guy who used to hold up the D-fence sign. Our defense has significantly weakened since he’s changed sides of the ball

Dabo won't get rid of him unless the defense really sucks in the next 3 big games.

I think Marion Hobby still has a job coaching DL in the NFL and is probably pretty happy. Besides you can't come back for a 3rd time, can you?

I did look and Clemson is not listed in top 50 in scoring defense. So for me, it is not a question of if but, when Wes is fired. I posted on here after the game last week that Wes needs to go.

His scheme does not work without superior athletes. If you need 1st round NFL talent to have a successful scheme your scheme is an issue. Bend but don't break defenses do not work against good teams with depth in college football. It's an NFL style that works bc you have talent that doesn't need as much development everywhere.

I don’t care as long as it’s not a “Dabuddy” from the current staff. A Proven hard nose defensive coordinator Who knows what he’s doing
