It would be best to remain silent as folks here are hurt right now and ??
Some are just coots taking advantage to jab us. Coots not heard from for a long time are posting today. Why is that?

Mostly I remain silent when folks attack players and coaches as I understand my thinking changes nothing.
Today I choose not to be cowardly.

I have read all the posts.
I believe Dabo was an unexpected miracle (not in a religious way).
He has shocked me (and the college football world). He has gone beyond football and got endless air play for being a solid Christian who is eager to proclaim that.

It is true many coaches could succeed at Clemson as Dabo has built the foundation for them.
Talks as to West and Ford from decades back are not relevant.

Beamer has money and is spending it like a kid in a candy shop.
I suspect he would bail and come here if asked. He is all in as to portal and NIL.

No offense to any here, but I 100% support Dabo.
He is a proven winner. I believe that in 2024 he is by far our best option.
Folks post as to how solid their Clemson heritage is. I enjoy reading that history as to yall, but Dabo's history to Clemson shades 99%.

I don't think there is a chance in Hades he will leave until he chooses to.
He knows more as to football than most of yall and even me. He understands Nil and portal better than us.

Folks act like the sky has fallen when we are beaten by a better team.

I think that is great and all, but Dabo's inability to change the way we recruit has left Clemson at a huge competitive advantage. He is the one that created the standard, and he refuses to maintain that.

Most people know Dabo is the right person, but he has to CHANGE!

Right now we are so hamstrung as a program its absurd.

We’ve all seen bad. At least those of us old enough. I guess mediocre is better than bad. We’ll sit back, watch average football and let Dabo collect his multi millions and tell us how moral he wants things. Sounds like one of those mega church preachers.

Correct. We'll see in the upcoming offseason, after Clemson goes 7-5, if Dabo will swallow his pride, admit he was wrong, and be smart enough to start using the transfer portal. First thing Clemson will need is a new QB. Look at NC State, Miami, and Notre Dame.

Lol I've seen bad.... losing seasons and numerous 6-7 win seasons when beating the coots was the highpoint of the season. It's slipping big time and Dabo needs to take a hard look again....it's like Neff or someone has tightened the pursestrings and won't go out and get a few proven players who would really help us. I watched it again tonight in the USC- LSU game....both teams brought some dudes in, and they made plays!!!

What is Dabo supposed to do when he tries to get a transfer and they choose elsewhere? Is he going to call YOU to get an extra $400K, $500K or $1 million to pay them to come? Which one of the emerging recruits is going to take a cut in their NIL to get one of their teammate's possible replacement to come in as a transfer?

Clemson has NIL money and the players that deserve it get it but there's not enough for everyone plus "the new money grabbing talented rent-a-players". When 65 - 75 Clemson athletes across all sports receive about $4 million annually, how is Clemson going to compete with O31-0 State that has $20 million in NIL to distrubute this year alone? Dabo and Clemson cannot squeeze "blood from a turnip".

Clemson last NIL disbursement that I could find as reported for tax purposes:. Note: athletes can have one or multiple NIL deals

509 total NIL deals for about 75 athletes across all sports.

224 NIL Deals valued < $999
163 NIL Deals valued $1000 - $9,999
117 NIL Deals valued > $10,000

If you're really interested, put your money where your mouth is and contact the 110 Society to support NIL.

Tug, folks aren't reacting to one game. They are reacting to the last 3+ seasons. The expectations set in pre-season was this was the year that was going to be different, and you have to squint very hard to find anything "different" in a good way. We all love Dabo and revere everything he has done for us, but his refusal to adapt to change is no longer a quirky thing; it is having real negative consequences.

I likened this earlier to playing golf. When everyone was playing with persimmon woods, Dabo was kicking butt. But, when everyone else went to the latest technology, and Dabo stayed with the persimmon woods, he put himself behind in distance and accuracy and could no longer keep up. His refusal to modernize in order to keep up is hurting the program. I HATE saying that but I don't see any other explanation.

I still think he can turn it around and get it back on track. I just don't know if he has the will to do what it takes to do so.

I just think if you are going to go out on a limb as a head coach of what once was an elite program and be the only one to do things your way, then you better deliver on the results. It is really hard to swallow that we have the only coach in America getting it right and the other 130+ just have it all wrong, particularly when results are leaning to the contrary.

So do you believe it's the Portal /NIL

or Coaching?

Bc what I saw was more of a letdown from the coaching staff than a talent issue. Thus bringing in portal players wouldn't change anything.

I think many would say it is a multitude of issues and not just a few easy ones that turn everything around. Roster management, player development, playbook, coaching, culture (not sure players are as bought in as many want to think), leadership, accountability, money, etc..

This didn't unfold overnight and it is going to take some massive change and time to address. I think a holistic approach involving Dabo, administration, BOT etc. is needed to develop a long range plan that addresses the major gaps. Get deep into root cause analysis, identify the major contributors that make the greatest impact, and then develop operating mechanisms and tactics to address.

Clemson fans deserve better than what we saw on the offensive side of the ball yesterday. It’s been the same story for 4 years now. Stop believing this is the best we can be and start pushing for changes.

As far as I am concerned Dabo is coach for life. I support however he chooses to navigate the ugly transition to either pro club or student-focused collegiate sport competing with only the also-rans. However, if he chooses the former, he is going to have to accept a pay cut, as NFL coaches do not make $11 million per year, and a substantial portion of our current coaching staff budget will have to be rerouted to player compensation.

That’s a great argument. But the game has changed and Dabo insists on his way, which I think it’s safe to say, ain’t gonna work. And the insane salary he is paid means he should be trying his best and do whatever it takes to field the best roster he possibly can. He isn’t even trying to do that. I think while we all appreciate and respect his accomplishments, I think resentment towards him is setting in for many fans. His gaslighting and sanctimonious attitude about the portal and NIL is not in good faith.

And his offense the last 4 years? I would love to understand what is going on there. I saw 2 programs with new starters last night, look as good as their predecessors at QB. Why does every other team I watch have offenses that look twice as fast and competent as ours? Everyone looks better than us.

Gut feeling says there is some very serious problems with our program. I don’t know what, I just know it makes zero sense.
