Could the ND scheduling agreement break the ACC into two conferences

with Clemson, FSU, Miami, NC, ND, the football-focused schools—to break off and start a league away from the lesser ones instead of leaving for another league. Leave behind BC, Wake, Duke, Cuse, Pitt, etc. We are essentially seeing the conference falling apart with this agreement because it's superseding the conference's own agreements in scheduling.

I saw where DRad hinted at that and I don't think that was an accidental slip up before the ACC meetings. Another popcorn worthy ACC Spring meeting! Can't wait for the infighting!

about their intentions to remain an independent in football. As long as the CFP Committee continues to coddle them by providing preferential treatment/consideration, that's not likely to change.

I think he meant scheduling divisions with the big football brands in one division which would include ND games with the big brands. Not ND actually joining the ACC. Heaven forbid that happens.

You are thinking old. I promise you SMU will be a power in the ACC and Louisville is already a power. The games with Notre Dame will have no affect on the conference.

I would doubt it unless they can attract some premier teams from other conferences. I don't think they would have good negotiating power for TV with just a handful of teams. I also don't think getting second tier teams from other conferences would be any better than the current second tier teams in the ACC. If you had all of the Flordia teams and all of the Georgia teams and teams in the Carolinas and maybe Virginia then that might be a draw but that means UF, UGA, and USC leaving the SEC and that is doubtful.
