Could Chad Morris be a contender...

Nov 18, 2012, 12:58 AM

For Tennessee's head coaching job? They got hammered by Vandy today, so Dooley is definitely done.

of SEC east. No way Morris goes there.

If Morris is ever going to make a move the SEC is the best league to do it. The other choice is Auburn. Both will be openings soon.

After their experiment with Dooley, I don't see them hiring

Nov 18, 2012, 1:05 AM

another coordinator, at least on without many more years of experience in the college ranks. I think they hire an existing head coach. We know Chad is awesome, but the rest of the country only see part of it

Clemson Football, the glory days are here!

I just dont see him leaving this year

Nov 18, 2012, 1:05 AM

especially for a job as far down in the dumps as TENN is.

The job won't be filled until off season. There is no better place to start as head coach than the SEC. And whether he is considered for TN or Auburn, it's almost a sure bet he'll be on the list. Either team gives him the ability to recruit and to bring in some coaching talent.

He has the ability to recruit at Clemson...***

yep... Clem is a legit title contender next year

Nov 18, 2012, 1:10 AM [ in reply to I just dont see him leaving this year ]

especially if Hopkins comes back. I think he at least sees what he can do with an OL returning just about everybody and the best skill position talent in the country. You don't give that up to go coach a Tennessee team that has nothing on defense, and (because their offense really isn't the problem) I don't think Morris would be their guy either.

It wouldn't be an easy decision for him. But getting to a head coaching spot sooner than later is certainly a pull for him. And the SEC has a lot of added benefits when it comes to recruiting and dedication. I'm sure he isn't just thinking about the first few years but building a program down the road. He for sure will be on at least one list. Whether it is tempting enough, we'll see.

If offered by either, he is gone. Rumor is Jimbo wants Auburn job. If he is willing to leave a HC job at the #1 team in acc for lower tier SEC job, a coordinator would definitely leave for the job.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Peterson, Patterson, Leach, R.Rod would be ahead of him on

Nov 18, 2012, 12:52 PM

the list.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, or course, but

Nov 18, 2012, 1:21 PM

I doubt an offer will come his way.
