2nd string is a need as serviceable players. We lost AW last year, Brown this year, now Haynes. Anytime a guy that sees the field often like Stellato leaves, it hurts the team. Especially in practice and in depth and injury issues.

Injuries have hindered his speed and quickness. He's been recruited over and his production will not be difficult to replace.

Losing players who don't play at positions we have numbers in gets our scholarship numbers below the threshold that allows us to find players at positions of need.

All 5 are backups. Only 2 of them are even listed on the depth charts that I looked at. The portal closes on December 28th, so they don't have the option of waiting until the playoff is over to transfer

I thought they gave players on playoff teams an extension to enter the portal. May be wrong but thought I had seen that last year.

"For players playing in the CFP (or other postseason games that last beyond Dec. 28, like later bowl games or the FCS playoffs), NCAA rules allow a five-day window to enter the portal beginning the day after their last game of the season."
I guess these guys don't expect to play and just want to find a new team ASAP.

It really makes no sense for any player thats on a team in the playoffs to enter the portal until their season is done.

December 28th is the last day to enter the portal. Their season won't be done by then unless they lose in the first round.
