Let them know Clemson is located in the Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville/Anderson TV market ranked #35 in the country. Columbia is like 30 spots below at #67.

2. Raleigh
3. Greenville/Spartanburg
4. Charleston ( Charleston, Berkeley, & Dorchester counties)
5. Greensboro
The 85 corridor is booming because it connects Atlanta and Charlotte and it’s going to keep growing.
Interestingly, however, the Charleston post and courier had an article last year stating that more than 51% of all real estate transactions in South Carolina are in the coastal counties. So despite the fact that Lexington is growing, and the upstate is booming, the growth along the coast is just insane. A handful of counties account for over 51% of all real estate transactions for the entire state. That’s how much we are growing down here. I don’t even recognize Charleston from my childhood. You now have high-rise buildings being built on the crosstown. You now have high-rise buildings on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. It’s just nuts!
It’s probably worse in Georgia. I’d be willing to bet that as much as 70% of all real estate sold in Georgia is happening in the Atlanta metro area. After Atlanta there’s Warner Robins, a military town, Augusta, and Savannah. That’s about it in Georgia. And all of that is on or near the border of South Carolina. Central and south Georgia are nothing but pine trees and onion fields.

counties. Spartanburg is not included and is it's own MSA. Combined into a consolidated CMSA - GSP is about #37 in the country.

They need easy wins in the conference, a fan base that mostly shows up with a lot of losing records. South Carolina is perfect from the perspective of Top SEC teams.
I hear they make a great little brother too. They don’t mind losing streaks!
