Did you ever think you’d hear that about a 34-3 loss a few years ago?

Yeah, and what's troubling is he said there would be other opportunities for "growth" this year. Really?

A lot of other teams came out of the gate balling last weekend. Ga Tech and BC to name a few. We looked like we hadnt practiced.

That's delusional. Beyond the usual coach speak.

Dabo doesn't seem to be practicing what he's preaching to the players judging by the last 4 years.

This is who Dabo is and always has been...

He's all about being positive, motivating, encouraging, building people up, and finding the good in every situation rather than criticizing or tearing down.
He has been that way since day one yet people are still surprised by it.

Dabo's words were ringing hollow in 2010 and 2011 too, but he hasn't changed. BigCUFan has it right. I can't fault Dabo for being Dabo. Now, some of the recent media gaslighting I can fault him for.

A more genuine and accurate response would've been something like this.

"We are really disappointed and frustrated by our performance on Saturday. Losing by 31 is not acceptable, no matter the opponent. We have a lot of things we must improve upon, and my staff and I are very determined to do that. While there were certainly positives from the game, which we will be sure to point out, they are overshadowed by the miscues and missed opportunities. As a developmental program, with a mantra of 'Best is the Standard,' we must do better. And we will."

That is loser speak.... "Lot's of positives".....sounds so Gamecocky it makes me cringe. "Blame me"...is just a deflection and not an actual taking ofr responsibility. If he was respnsible there would be coaches fired in the next coming week. What do you mean our recievers can't run routes or get separation...fired. A 5 star recruit QB has actually gotten worse than he was in highschool? Fired.
Its all political losing talk. I would rather hear Dabo say, "Ah, I got nuthin'" The meaning of which is "we suck and I just don't want to throw people under the bus." Instead he tries to make whipped cream out of a stale can of whooped ###.

You would think after 4 losses last year we would’ve found those positives. I don’t think the positives are in the room with us.

or is just saying them publicly to try to remain positive for the players, coaches, and fans.
Because there is no way that there can be a lot of positives when you lose by 31, no matter how optimistic you're trying to be.

If we had b-slapped Georgia 34-3, would Kirby be speaking on the positives? Would Saban? Even Day or other “top tier team” coaches? No!!!

I just hope we don't start hearing "we are 2 plays away from winning the game.." after a loss. Nightmares of the Bowden years will come back.
