48 for me. I was pretty sure of myself, Clemson was the only school I applied

to. I had good grades and a great (for the time) SAT and ACT score. 1600 was perfect back then, only two sections. (I did NOT make 1600). I think there is a lot more emphasis on "preparing" for the SAT these days. Not so back in the wagon wheel days when I took it. It was just "Hey, we are taking the SAT next Saturday."

I always did do well on those tests that required no study. It was those pesky ones that DID require study that almost sunk me. That was pretty much ALL of them at Clemson.

:(

I remember very well how happy my wife and I were when our kids got accepted. I hope your son loves it as much as we all do.

I was a 74 grad and my daughter was accepted in 2000. I went to her orientation and enjoyed it WAY more than my own, 30 years before. Go to the orientation!
Again, congratulations! Special times that will go by in a wink.

If I was applying to Clemson now, I wouldn't have gotten in. I was an out-of-stater too.... think I was filling the Yankee quota from Minnesota and they let me slide in the class of 1995.

To be honest, my older sister was at Duke and I wanted to go to an ACC school close to her and at that time, Clemson didn't require a written essay for the application which was a huge plus. But I visited and went to a football game and that was all I needed to see.

Tiger Town Bound!!!
Congratulations to your son and to the whole family. It will be over before you know it.
I was so proud when my daughter and son each were accepted. My son will be finishing his masters next semester.
Go Tigers!!!
