Imagine how our team would be performing now if Brad managed to outrecruit the Vols for him...

Yes. Close with Oliver Purnell, but could go either way and no problem with any debate.
This post season stings as a Clemson basketball fan. A similar school and former coach having success as conference champions. Just glad USuK not making it to the Dance making it worse.

Correct. I'd put Ellis #1, quite honestly. Had some good/great teams, didn't

cheat, and loyal to CU. Tates Locke #2, because he put the most pure talent on the court we've ever had... but he "cheated"... you know, just like they said about Danny Ford... which means they just did what everybody else was doing if you wanted elite talent.
I'm not sure who I'd put at #3.......

Oliver Purnell did a great job. Took a Larry Shyatt dormat program to 4 straight 20 win seasons. Both Barnes and he were the best.

I agree Oliver Purnell did a decent job in his early years, but he'll never make my list of best Clemson coaches with the way he snuck out of town without any warning to his players or to the administration. Furthermore, his records when playing in the NCAA or NIT tournaments are worse than Brownell's--a pretty low bar to shoot at!
