Heading down next week to see my brother and sister, we havent all been together in a while.
Looking for SEAFOOD RESTAURANT wreck-o-mendations, non-Calabash style. OK they can have some fried seafood, but not the main menu item.
Looking in MB proper, not Murrel's Inlet or Calabash.

pick out your fish and tell them how you want it cooked. they'll tell you when and where it was caught if that is of interest to you as well. they have beer too

There is this lovely hole in the wall place that serves seafood both fried and non. Not expensive, delightful, colorful and you can get as many refill fountain drinks as you like.
You do not need to dress up, it is casual dining with a Compton style flair.
Give Captain D's a try.

get a view of the ocean, not the highway. Been there forever, I haven't been there in a few years, but been there many times, always good. Rare to find seafood on oceanfront in Myrtle Beach proper.

Paper towels are on the tables pre-positioned for maximum mess cleaning. Order oysters on the halfshell until you're stuffed. Than move to the fried seafood platter for dessert.
Your wife, cardiologist, and life insurance company will all be happy as well.

Bimini's is damn good. And if you want a TRUE hole in the wall experience, go a little further north to Rockefeller's. Food is great, and don't forget the oyster shooter!

Crabcatchers on the Water. The boats tie up to the dock and offload to the kitchen, you can watch them offload and see what they brought back. The very definition of fresh catch of the day. It is not cheap, but it is DELICIOUS if you like fresh fish. Wonderful place but stays busy so get there for dinner no later than 6pm if possible. Hope you can try them.

Sea captains house. It’s on ocean Blvd at 30th Ave north in Myrtle beach. Take 29th N from Broadway at the Beach until it dead ends at the ocean. Then turn left and it’s 2 blocks on the right. Make reservations if you can

But if you must, I highly recommend the Hot Fish Club in Murrels. Excellent seafood and also good sushi selections as well. Great atmosphere.
Do NOT go to Wicked Tuna in Murrels; one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had with food quality and service. Afterwards, tried to get a drink at the bar and go on the little boardwalk area. I was one of two customers. Bartender got irritated that she had to serve me and her coworker didn't. I asked for a craft beer and asked how much.
"I dunno. It's like $5 or $6."
"Well, which one is it?" I asked.
She sighed, went to the register, and then said, "It's $7."
The whole place sucked and the management didn't act like they cared.

Always has a Miller Lite (No Natties) waiting when I walk in.
But he knows my buddy and his wife who live within walking distance and go there quite a bit.
Had I kept the house I bought up there I could almost throw a rock and hit the place. It's back for sale if anybody wants a house that needs some work.
