Money can't buy

A natty just to let y'all know. Not every 5 star kid thats gonna make millions playing a supposed amateur sport gonna pan out. Those teams with their 100 million dollar roster still gotta go their and compete. I have a feeling those teams like fsu will give up after losing a game or 2 knowing that they already got paid and don't care about playing in a non cfp bowl. Eventually its gotta become unsustainable or I couple be totally wrong. Guess we'll see.

For example, Tennessee recently got a corporate sponsorship from the Pilot Convenience Store chain. Reportedly $5 million per year for on field branding but no stadium naming rights.

They think it's worth it, regardless of the age of the athletes.

Ignoring that option is just another way to get us farther behind.

It’s a lot like Major League Baseball. Uneven payroll create an imbalance. Difference being is it’s all free agency in cfb. At least in MLB you can build from the draft.

I personally believe that money can buy just about anything if you have enough of it, and enough of it can buy just about any situation you want to see happen and when you want it to happen.

In college or professional FB you can buy the outcome with enough of money...

I've heard people say all my life that they can't be bought, and I've always said that is total BS because most people (maybe not all, but most) would sell their soul for lifetime security living like the RICH and never again having to worry about money ever...

Well maybe Cleveland is the exception. They paid DW4 a ton of guaranteed money but not a lot of wins.

it is even more true in College Football.

You have a dozen deep pocket booster programs with large alumni base in which the bidding wars are well under way.

Of that dozen, and among all other teams, there will only be 1 Champion. Just 1

So no more how much money is spent, it will not buy some teams anything more than a decent season.

Money has always been able to buy a championship. But the team with most resources doesn't always win.

How did Clemson win 2 and play for 2 more during the previous era? We didn't have the most resources, or the best recruits. So what was it? This program developed a particular and specific culture, including through the coaching staff, that allowed it to find an edge.

College football has changed, that is certain. And Clemson is not elite, that is certain. If Clemson is going to be elite again, it will have to do so by finding a different edge that the blue bloods, just like we did before.

We weren't going to buy one when the money was under the table, and we aren't going to buy one when 10x more money is above the table either. I don't think it's a coincidence that we're 17th in NIL and 17th in the CFP rankings.

We're seeing every week that teams don't just give up when they lose. I know we all keep saying that, but it isn't happening. They're hired guns but they know that the NFL might be on the horizon for some of these P5 guys, they're not going to just mail it in.

FSU sucks because they built a terrible roster. Every transfer they signed that left P5 programs left because they couldn't play elsewhere. Signing a half dozen of Alabama's backups doesn't mean that you're going to look like Alabama. You're going to look like Auburn.
