College football playoff

Feb 1, 2013, 9:54 AM

I know this won't happen but just the way I wish it would end up. How many times have you actually questioned who is in the Super Bowl? Not been mad about who went but actually questioned it, probably very few times. I think the college playoff should mimic the NFL, I understand the loss of money and this and that but to a true college football fan like me and I am sure a lot of you it would put the real teams in the championship. I would gladly give up the chance to go to the orange bowl to make the "wild card" I'm this playoff system. Just my opinion what do y'all think?

I have always been against a playoff

I like the fact that every game in the college football season is important if you want to reach the ultimate goal. I like that upsets in the last few weeks of the season change who still has a shot.

BUT....

The way that when everybody has 1 loss, ESPN gets to pick who gets in to the game has ruined it. The fact that ESPN makes everyone think an SEC team deserves to be there every year no matter what has ruined it. A solid argument could be made that Alabama has won 2 straight NCs without deserving to be invited to either one of them. This has more than anything ruined college football...

Give me a playoff!!!

The new selection criteria needs to exactly state on

field performance not roster and recruiting rank determines a deservingness. Alabama lost at HOME the past two years, and there's not even a mention that maybe they didn't play well enough on the FIELD to play in the championship. Of course they have the best athletes, but that's why we play the games. If it was based solely on athletes, Tommy Bowden would have won 5 straight ACC titles.

I think the Super Bowl isn't selective enough

I'm tired of these like 9-7 teams pulling it together at the end of the year and winning it. If they want to do the 4 division format, then there's no wild card. You play each team in your division twice so it's more than settled on the field. A wild card makes December interesting, however.

Since college is not set up the same way, the wild card would have to be determined by voters. That gives the controversy and debate we all love, but since sports media like all other media no longer even tries to report unbiased news, we'd be left with as many sec teams as rules will allow every year.

I don't ever see political cartoons like there used to be, but an interesting one would be espn and cbs both taking dumps of money, and mike slive underneath the toilets holding open money bags. The other commissioners would look on jealously. Including jesse palmer and gary danielson with not so bright looks on their faces is a plus.

SEC

If their were a true playoff system I do believe it would fix the ESPN propaganda. The SEC would not make it every year. Pls stop airing every college game that even comes close to being relevant on ESPN. Look at the pros again there fox and CBS play more than ESPN and they have taken any ESPN biased out of it all together the contracts really need to be shopped around more than just ESPN!!!

FOX and even NBC competition would make for better college football. However, I don't want to get in a situation where each network backs its own league only. Then we're left with our media/political system, which is a train wreck.
