Coach of the year in the SEC.

Dec 30, 2021, 5:53 PM

Two guys took over complete train wrecks. Both got their teams to bowl games. Shane Beamer and Josh Huepel.

Huepel should win it because TN was an even worse wreck than SC was. They lost something like 30 players to the portal after last year. They are under NCAA investigation making recruiting even worse.

Josh Huepel should be the national coach of the year. No one did more with le3ss than he did.

And, yes, Dabo should be coach of the year in ACC. The many many obstacles of adversity he managed to overcome this year makes this as good a coaching job as he has ever done.

I agree about who it should be in the SEC.

I also agree it should be Dabo in the ACC. But, b/c Wake is the smallest FBS school and they had a good year it will probably be Clausen.

Dabo though by far had the biggest hurdles with the injuries and transfers though.

I think Clauson has already been named Coach of the Year!***

Correct!

He deserves it!

Overcome adversity…he recruited poor his OLine and QB play. Also he recruited the 9 players that opted to transfer. He delt his own cards. Injuries are part of the game. This was a team that was suppose to compete for the Natty and failed to win its division in the ACC. The ACC’s best OOC win is Pitts win of a 7-5 Tennessee team.

Where are my statements wrong?

Your statements are factual.

Just depends on your criteria for determining coach of the year.

One way to decide it would just be to give it to the conference champion. And give the national coach of the year to the winner of the DR. Pepper trophy.

And, just a side note. Jimbo Fisher opted out of a bowl game because he didn't have enough scholarship players available. He was concerned about the safety and well being of his players, so he said. I guess that means he cares more about his players than anyone else. So, you could use that criteria and say he deserves it for his courage and integrity.

Or maybe they should give it to Kirby because I believe GA may have set a school record for fewest players arrested this year.

Your statements may all be correct. Injuries are part the game, some years you have 2-3 season ending injuries, but when you have 12-17 it is an entirely different issue especially when one position(WR) gets decimated. Having said that, Dave Clawson probably deserves it.

this year than Clemson. Just consider your dogs lucky to have beaten us. Our D gave up the same number of points that UGA did!

You UGA fans sure are spicy now that you are relative. It was a nice season up to the SECCG. Alabama is a tough out, although they should have lost a couple other games (Auburn RB gotta go down in bounds lol)

Do you expect to beat Michigan and if so why ?? I expect a really good game, depends on which team imposes their will and if UM can figure out the UGA defense. I’m not sure they have the weapons Alabama has but they have a good running game.

One could make an argument for stoops in SEC.

I don’t think Dabo should ACC coach of the year.

I suggest Dave Clausen.
