Once DRob was taken off the corner, the D settled down until the 3rd. We gave up 2 cheap TDs due to the INT and the field position, then they got us with that last score...

Granted our kick coverage sucked… but to say that defense was in control of ANYTHING is ludicrous. That's a worrisome comment to me. He needs to be real if he's going to fix this thing. We got some real games coming up. Were going to have to have a defense to win.

We won by 14, the secondary was confused in a good part of the game. Take away about 4 or 5 drops and State may have won that game.

I know the mantra of this group, and I get it that many saw a defense that gave up huge, huge, huge yards, points, etc, but NCSU did make a couple of 1 handed miraculous catches, a couple of outstanding kickoff returns that shouldn't have happened, etc. Now it is the defenses' responsibility to stop that, but other than those big plays, we did pretty good. We were just 1 or 2 plays away from a perfect game. TB, are you still there? The good news, and the difference is, we did get enough done offensively to overcome it.

ever play defense before? We had 3 serious breakdowns that took excellent recognition and skills to capitolize on and they did it. I do have a problem with the scheme but considering what our defense set out to do, they played pretty well. A perfect example was that on two (maybe even more) occasions, they called a screen at the same time we called an aggressive blitz. Timing. BV obviously planned to make them beat us throwing. There are maybe 6 or 7 QBs in the country that could fare well in that situation. Glennon is one of them. I wish we would jam the rb and te when they release. It takes nearly 2 seconds out of a check down route and in that time, we can get to anyone. By the way, SCU does not have such a qb. If we stop their runners as effectively, we will have allot of fun Saturday night.
Remember guys, bv knows what the game plan was and feels good about what he saw. I have a feeling the entire defense is going to play well against the chickens.
