Clowney Superman, not so fast my friends.....

Sep 8, 2013, 11:01 AM

.... I have been saying for the past 2 seasons that Clowney was a good DE but he isn't something from outer space. For someone to get as much attention as he does he sure does only average things you would think that he had 24 sacks last year not the average number of 13.5 which every other decent DE who has ever played had. I just don't get it as I watched the USuCk vs UGay game I didn't see him getting doubled team all game maybe a chip here or a chip there but for the most part Georgia O-line did a good job which can't be possible because the national pundits have said all off-season he was unstoppable and in Cootlumbia he was seen jumping tall buildings in a single bound. I am just confused what am I missing I mean I know he had 4.5 sacks against us last year but a couple of those was on Tajh not getting the ball out of his hands so what is it. I know he is quick but Vic Beasley is quick I know he is strong but I think Vic is stronger. Clowney had 13.5 sacks last year which is good not great but Vic had 8 and played a quarter of the snaps Clowney did. What is it I want to know can some of my Clemson brothers tell me because I sure as h3ll don't get it.....

It's the hit. The hit where he went unblocked and nailed a defenseless Michigan RB in the backfield.

That's all his fame and hype had centered around and now people are watching him more closely and realizing he's not the beast they all thought.

ESECPN affiliation

I think it has more to do with the "affiliation" (aka contract) ESPN has with the SEC. Who else would they hype, and where else do they have a coach who will spew forth much-needed commentary?
