LSU Home and Home

Jul 16, 2018, 1:00 PM

TI reporting we’re in talks about a home and home series with LSU. Between A&M this year, ND in 2020, and potentially LSU. Some strong CFB road trips upcoming

Don't forget UGA. Unless something changed that one was close to finalized.

Hadn’t heard anything about that recently

Other than the report saying expect an announcement this summer which we haven’t heard anything yet. Would love to have both.

Clemson's OOC schedule is set through 2023...

Jul 16, 2018, 1:05 PM

so if the two schools can manage to get something worked-out, the game probably won't be played until 2024 at the earliest.

We have an open date in 2021 that needs to be filled

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yup...

Jul 16, 2018, 1:07 PM

but I wouldn't think that we'd skip a year between a home and home series but who knows.

That 2021 game will likely get filled by someone like Furman, Wofford, SC State, Coastal Carolina or some other in-state program willing to take a beatdown in exchange for a paycheck.

I dunno.. we only have Uconn, Wyoming, and SC

Jul 16, 2018, 1:51 PM

on the schedule for 2021. That's not a very good OOC slate. We might just schedule an in-state FCS school, but that may also be a good year to play in one of the neutral site kickoff games. It looks like we have week 1 open.

'24-'25 is open for both us and LSU for a home here in '24

and Baton Rouge for '25.

Could be a great series.

Jul 16, 2018, 1:48 PM

We have to play our big non-conference game at home in odd years (UGA 13, ND 15, Auburn 17, TAMU 19) and away in even years. If not you would have 6 home games in one year and 8 in the other. That is not going to happen.

Why would we want to go into slum lord locker rooms, face the shenanigans even the cops pull(long out of the way trips to the stadium to be abandoned in some ghetto), and the most obnoxious, drunk fans in the world? Wyoming sounds like paradise compared to deaf valley.

I would absolutely be down for a home and home with LSU, Tiger Stadium (aka the FAKE Death Valley) has always been one of those stadiums that I want to visit, especially at night. It also doesn't hurt that both programs are traditional powers.

Another stadium on my bucket list is Texas A&M, but unfortunately, being the broke college kid I am, that one ain't happening this year.

I have to say LSU is one of those places where I would love for us to play in. Beautiful campus and a crazy atmosphere. It's like being locked up with rabid Cajun zombies.
