regular time slot for us whether we like it or not. Not much Neff can do about it. We are, at this point, an eastern coast ACC team. ABC, CBS and NBC have already decided they are giving their money (and preferential treatment) to the SEC, Big 10 and ND.
ESPN and ESPN2 are the most we can hope for as far as the networks go, with ACC and CW following up. Stanford and Cal are not going to host nooners on the west coast, meaning they will get 3:30 or later games unless they play on the road. ESPN sees us as their most viewable audience and will want us more than most other ACC teams (depending on who we play) but being on the east coast makes us more attractive to them for the noon slot with the Big 12 being mostly central time zone.
These are just some of the changes the last few years have set in motion. We can also expect to lose more recruits to schools that use NIL money to entice HS kids who have done nothing at the collegiate level while we use ours to reward and keep our kids from leaving for another school or the NFL.
I hope for the best as it is more rewarding than waiting for worse to happen, but if we don't figure out a way to change the dynamics things will get more difficult. I don't want to but it looks like we need to get into the Big 2 or have the whole thing blow up and start over with a new "Super League" that some have talked about. Just my two cents, or maybe based on the size of the post a nickel's worth of free advice!
