100,000. Town atmospheres aren't even close to similar.

Shouldn’t of even been ranked what a travesty, living off of past accomplishments bunch of bums. They should’ve put Columbia number one on every list incase you haven’t heard they’re back ?♂️?♂️

Not much definition here of what the qualifications are as population. Tuscalosa have just over 100,000 population and Clemson about 17,000 so are they in the same category? Chapel Hill is about 76,000 so does this website think that is not a better sports town than Boone?

Also, Stanford is actually Paulo Alto and that area is densely populated so another screw up. If you are adding cities like this and Tuscaloosa, south bend is way cooler.

#1. South Bend has more than 100k. That’s NOT a small town. It’s an urban city by definition. #2. You’ve clearly never been to Boone. Small town feel. Small town numbers. Insane environment with a family atmosphere. Just like Clemson, they treat visitors like family until kickoff. Clemson is barely a small town by definition. Tuscaloosa is NOT according to the census data. South Bend is an amazing football environment. It’s a close third regardless of size. However, SMALL town is the metric here. Most of the “small towns” on this list do not meet census definition. Including clemson. We are small. We are mighty. But, we’re growing into a metropolis. By census standards. Terrible article and ranking criteria.
