Congrats to Higgins, Rose, & Nielsen, all of whom had excellent rounds yesterday.
As Skeeta says, "Crisp & Straight, Tigers!"

Question about the scoring...

I get that the number in parentheses after a golfer's name specifies his ranking on the team for that tournament. What does the "I" mean after Keever's name? He started WAY earlier than the rest of the guys.

It means he is playing as an individual and not as a team member. His score does not count toward the team standings.

How does one qualify to play as an individual?

Usually through intrasquad tournaments determine the 5th spot in rotation. Then coach can pick one for individuals. That rotates to reward the guys, and girls.

& having good rounds while our boys are struggling some today.
Current sitting at 5th after starting day T2nd...FSU & GT have jumped into Top 5. Our guys started in later group than FSU/GT, so hopefully they'll play cleaner on the back 9 & can climb a couple spots before day's out. Need to finish as high as they can for the W-L-T record & offset the fall results not just today, but rest of the season.

😞
Guys have fallen into bottom half of the field & currently shooting the worst round of all teams. Terrible timing for this round.

This has sadly been our M/O this season. Even the fall tournaments. Our pattern in several was we'd shoot our bad round on opening tournament... then have a strong final.
Guess we mixed it up today. We started the round (other than Kian) lights out. Who knows, but it's disappointing to say the least. What a golden opportunity to move up in the rankings. Worst round of the day so far... so it's not conditions.

Unfortunately I believe the results of the fall are more indicative of this team

Than Briar Creek & the 1st 2 rounds of this tournament. Sadly I see them missing postseason barring a miracle showing to win the ACC.
Hope they'll learn & grow for next year.

It always amazes me how they do that. I mean I can see one or two having a bad round, but what makes them all have a bad round at the same time?

Pretty sure Skeeta & Clemgal wish they did too.
They found a way to staunch the bleeding & finished 6th (beat half the field), but they let a golden opportunity slip thru their fingers with this disastrous round today. Sucks b/c it felt like they had some mojo coming off the win their last tourney.

he could wave a magic wand and fix the inconsistencies that I was hoping we had progressed beyond . . . No such fortune for Our TIGERS!!!
The 4 Scoring TIGERS had 1 eagle, 13 birdies, 16 bogies and 3 double bogies . . . the inconsistencies returned . . . 15 under on our scoring holes proves to me that we can score enough to be competitive . . . Frustrating to say the least.
Sorry, I didn’t chime in today . . . I was out whacking it about with some friends in Bennettsville . . . shot 40-38=78 . . . and I had NO double bogies . . . I am NOT a talented golfer . . . just an old färt hacking it about!!!

Was a nice round with no doubles. Amazing how many birdies as a team that we have.
But this is the first group of guys that I can remember that doesn't have at least one Ben, Carson, Billy, Blake, Bryson, Kyle, Jacob, or Doc and the ĺist could continue for 25+ years. It seemed no matter what tournament, or how we eventually ended up, they'd fire off a 65 or something close at least one round in a tournament. But we have one in Will and a couple on the way.
It probably hurt us in the long run that Patton, Cottam, Gordon etc stayed an extra year.
