not nearly has highly rated as the ones we have on the team now. Let that sink in. The talent we will be working with is not going to be as good as the talent we have been working with. This senior class is the one that came in after winning two national championships in three years.
Everyone says we don't have good receivers now and they don't compare to what we had. The DJ, Grysham, and Streeter experiment did absolutely nothing for three very good receivers, Justyn Ross, Dacari Collins and Beaux Collins. Justyn only regressed after his senior year. I know there was injury, but after injury recovery, just never made it. Dacari has the makings of an excellent receiver, but left due to frustration. Hopefully Beaux will come back strong. We have not had a good offense since Jeff Scott left. Tony Elliot was where all the imagination and sharpness went away. Just look at what he did to Virginia's qb and offense in one year.

How many practices have you attended?
Are you saying you can predict an 18 year old kids talent and future by watching on tv or in person.
You know what the skills are the would propel these kids in the future.
Justyn Ross should have retired.
Beaux Collins is doing great when not injured.

I can tell you we recruited him as a WR and he was apparently WAAAAAAAY higher on our board than anybody realizes, maybe the top of it.
Whether or not Grisham is right about Hanafin is an open question, but Grisham apparently really, really wanted him. FWIW.
I'm willing to just wait and see at this point. We've had a lot of 4-and-5 star busts lately, and recruiting hype hasn't necessarily translated to better results.

Most of the underperforming players were recruited when Elliot and Venables were still the coordinator and running the same system as in previous years.

There is no way Dabo has not reached out to portal players and there has probably been many he really wanted that just are not picking Clemson. Players are in the portal for two reasons. 1. They want more playing time/ to start and 2. They are in for a money grab for whatever reason. Dabo is not going to tell anyone ever they are guaranteed any amount of playing time if they pick Clemson much less going to start. He is going to tell them they can come and compete and maybe have a good chance to win a job but never is he going to hand them one sight unseen. TL could come back to Clemson tomorrow and Dabo would tell everyone he has to compete and win the job. And for the ones wanting money there are far more lucrative opportunities with promises of starting jobs to choose from than Clemson. So building the Clemson program on portal players is a complete pipe dream. Even if it was Dabo’s #1 desire in the world logistically it will never happen.

Sad, but true. Our coaches couldn’t develop the 7th, 12th, 3rd, and 5th ranked classes. Should we really expect them to develop the 14th and 13th (so far) ranked classes?

We've seen the coaches squander 4 and 5 star recruits, just wait til they are working with 3 stars guys. Going to get ugly quick when talent level can't overcome Jr high coaching and schemes.
