We are talking MAJOR football powers. 11 National Championships in the past 40 years - Over 25% of all National Championships from 3 schools in the ACC. Thats not even including GT (1990 National Champion), VT (Top 15 program), Pitt (4 More National Championships), UNC or NCST.
Our idiot former Conference Commissioner (Swofford) just made some HORRIBLE TV contracts that have painted the ACC as idiots.

This looks a whole lot like a Georgia Bulldog fan type post.

(Sorry.) Miami has not been relevant for decades. Their last Natty was 21 years ago. And, in the Social Media age, where the Thugs at Thugga You can't hide from the spotlight, they will never be relevant again.
It remains to be seen if FSU will return, or if we are seeing the nearly first decade of a longer decline.
Trumpeting a SHARED GT Natty from 1990 as them being relevant as a football program? Please.
And as far as Virginia Tech, even in the Beamer glory years, they were just "Close, but No Cigar" at their best. And, their best is LONG gone. Same with Pitt as far as any even recent past glories.
Facing facts, Clemson is the Power ONE in the ACC, and even with us completing at the highest level, this conference is barely treading water at still being considered in the Power Five. If the ACC were a stock, there would be panic SELL!, SELL!, SELL! orders all over Wall Street.
If all these realignments happen, and Clemson remains stuck in the severely financially disadvantaged ACC, we better hope and pray that the Playoffs DO get expanded, otherwise we will lose our seat at the table.

I think the gist of your comment can be said about most of the conferences, simply put the ACC is located in football loving areas(like the SEC) and the schools he mentioned(minus Miami) have rabid fan bases that no one wants to exclude, so they will be relevant always. JMO.

You are probably right but you are assuming that the Clemson leadership isn’t perfectly fine with staying in a lower model that continues to emphasize academics.
