Clemson fans have it easy with Spurrier, ask UGA and Tenn

Just ask UGA and Tenn fans in the 90s and early 200s what it was like to be beaten soundly by Spurrier while at UF.
At least now he is at USC where a National Champ, SEC champ is much less likely, most would say impossible. He was winning big at UF here and there at USC.
I thought he was a jerk at UF but have grown to realize he changed after the severe losing stint with the Redskins. He failed, he was taking it too seriously and it affected him and his family.
Think about it, he actually admitted in that interview on the home page he doesn't think football in the offseason. He said when would I think about it when I am on the golf course in Ireland or in the Bahamas.
That would never come out of Dabo, young Spurrier, nor any other coaches mouth. Any of you guys have solid friendships dating back to college or even high school? When you get together with just guys fishing or golf whatever, there are some kidding and mocking joking that goes on between good people you like?
Spurrier has come out to say he is great friends with Phil Fulmer yet he blasted him more in 2 weeks than he has ever blasted Dabo. I actually think behinds the scenes Dabo and him are friends and many of us would be shocked to know what their relationship is really like.
he is simply having fun. Some call it low blows others call it a good times and you only nag the folks you care about or respect the most.

I don't really think they have a good working relationship. Spurrier doesn't even like to shake hands after the game.

The sports media in DC would disagree. He didn't take being the coach of the Redskins seriously enough. He never put in the hours that other NFL coaches do. He hired a bunch of his UF cronies who didn't have a clue about the NFL game. He ran plays that worked on the college level (send all eligible receivers deep) which resulted in the QB getting hammered almost every play. He didn't even have the decency to meet with the organization to announce his resignation. He called the owner while playing a round of golf. He was the joke of Washington and is still thought of that way by the local media.

That's a great point, I have noticed it too but he is quick shake a move on with everyone. Dabo likes to hug and chat a bit which is just the difference in personalities.
Spurrier had us fooled years ago with Fulmer and Jim Donnan from UGA, he let them have it with jokes, wise cracks, and much more than he has ever given Dabo only to see both coaches come out and publicly talk about their deep friendship with him and his family.
Like it or not, Dylan Thompson, who many would appreciate as a good Christian kid putting his faith and family above everything, has discussed Bible verses Spurrier has left in his locker before big games.
I know it is hard to accept when he is cracking on Dabo but behind the veil it seems there are facts that show he is having fun and people enjoy that about him. That is unless it is directed in your direction.

i remember hearing Spurrier when he first came to USC that he prefers a fist pump over a handshake. he said he wasn't too keen on the germs and the fist pump is quicker. so Dabo shouldn't take it seriously. plus, most of what he's saying is meant for the USC fans and not the general media. same as he did w/ Bowden at Gator events and often to Phil Fulmer, who was actually good friends w/.

plain and simple. If he were a great guy , a holy scripturously wonderful behind the scenes person as you attempt to convince us of ...then why all the vitriol and nastiness in the first place ? The man has a reputation as being smug , vindictive and having no love for anyone but himself for a reason -because it is true. Shoot man , USuC fans hated him for running up the score on them at UF and now they want tje stadium named after him . Suckers and sycophants the lot of ya.

I can't believe you fell into the trap. I admitted nobody likes him when he is talking about your coach, however, there are facts to prove it was all to get people like us riled up and bad mouthing him because behind the scenes the families of Fulmer and Spurrier were very close.
I have not liked him for decades, I just happened to rethink things based on what I have read and heard from the horses mouth about him behind the scenes. Even media folks say off camera he is one of the nicest guys around remembering their kids names, asking about family, etc.
Go back and read the title, UGA and TEnn probably had it worse due to big time winning while Clemson fans are just getting a taste of it based on much smaller scale success.
