Clemson and the Future of the ACC-ON THE WAY UP!

May 31, 2013, 12:26 PM

SN gives Clemson and the ACC no respect in their preseason mag. Athlon is much more favorable. Clemson and FSU won their respective BCS bowls, a first in our history of the BCS.
Clemson and FSU are taking forward steps in recruiting and on the field
Miami is believed to finally be making a turn around as well. Some think they will play for ACC Championship.
Louisville and Notre Dame 5/8 committments to the ACC will make us even stronger in the future as they continue elevating their play again. Don't forget VT.
2013's recruiting for present and future teams-4 in top 15, 6 in the top 25.
Right now, 2014s class-has 3 in top ten, 7 in the top 25.The ACC had only 4 teams in the top 25 the previous 2 years. I remember when Clemson longed for a few 4 star players, now our classes are loaded with them.
4 Star players don't always tranlate to wins, but it is funny how SEC teams are always tops in recruiting and wins If good recruits = wins, the future looks bright for the Tigers and the ACC.

the Chick-fil-A Bowl is not a BCS Bowl. It is the ACC # 2 vs SEC # 5

Absolutely...I mean, you could say it was a BCS level game, but it wasn't actually a BCS game.

ticket sales. Their actual team has no impact on the ACC since they are not an ACC team.

Otherwise I agree. I don't know why everyone thinks that the die is cast. College sports change all the time. We're down now. In a few years we won't be.

Recruiting matters....

The last 8 BCS National Champions had a top 5 recruiting class in the 3 years prior to winning the Championship.
