You can't call both. I am not that nuanced on the rules, but I would imagine one call supercedes the other.

it was the reason the flag was thrown, he put his hands on his face mask when the ball was in the air. The ref had no choice but to toss the laundry. And he easily could have been called for holding prior. Had he just put his hands up and let the receiver try to run through him, it would not have been a penalty.

So I was just asking why it matters that he touches his face when that’s not what was called. So what you’re saying is not only did the ref miss the face, but called PI for a face mask he didn’t see? I don’t get it.

It is 15 yards either way, but he did not drag him to the ground or twist his head; he initiated contact in a way that impeded progress, which is how the rule is stated. It was clear-cut pass interference.
I am not sure why this has to be an argument, and people calling each other stupid. I just posted a different camera angle that showed what happened. Before seeing this, I thought it was a bogus call as well.

you are fine, it is a couple of other posters that need to either settle down or sober up. I am just explaining why the flag was thrown. And the argument from the color commentators that it should have been offensive interference is just wrong, Terrell was nto playing the ball, and it did not help his cause when he threw his hands up after the fact and flopped.

you got me on that one, but the ref can't call both. It is a 15 yard penalty putting them on the 2 either way.

Wrong…that was clearly PI on the O …plan as day. if he grabs facemask then hands to face call. Ref blew call. But defense blew the game letting receivers run free..game was lost when they moved ball off their own 5 down the field with ease

I hate we lost, but Tigerbalm1, showed exactly why the ref made the call -- either way, defense let them make a 94 yard drive, with 4 minutes to play and then gave up a 2 point conversion, on the same play that was ""blown coverage again"" ___________ not a defensive man within 30 yds.*********
