are happy.
IPTAY is so poor they had to kill the track & field program.
On the plus side, that spiffy indoor track facility will make a great premium all weather tailgating venue.

how much of their budget does track revenue cover?

just a joke, sorta. Football's shoulders are only so big. Maybe Lady Tigers hoopsters could have shared some of their revenue to save track.
Sorry, 4 hrs at the dentist can lead to snarky posts.

They took all the non used athletic clothes from all sports and sold them for a very cheap price. I got a shaq lawson purple duffel bag and filled it will clothes for about $200. Wish they would do that again.

Well you know my family had the same seat for over 50 yrs. They came out with the policy of not passing those seats down to you relatives and keep the points. That is what happens. Give them to someone willing to pay more money then they want their money back. It be what it be.

I'm sure they looked at every aspect of the balance sheet and chose the sport that made the most financial impact for the least athletic impact, and to satisfy Title IX. Clemson would have a lot more sports if they could afford them without being a drain on football, according to my inside IPTAY sources. I'm sure they poured over the budgets on this one, as we have had a relatively successful men's track program. And, Clemson has actually been very hesitant to pull the Covid financial alarm compared to a lot of schools across the country.

an excuse to cancel their baseball program?
It really is too bad that more sports can't be self sufficient.

Agreed. But, I bet its really a university title 9 compliance problem, which legally must be solved Look at the roosters: Football 120 men vs Volleyball and Rowing 90 ladies net -30 ladies Baseball 37 men v Softball 25 ladies net -12 ladies Soccer, Golf and Tennis are net zero Track men 44 ladies 46 net +2 ladies
Net -40 Clemson Lady athletes
So, what can anyone do to balance the -40 opportunities for women athletes at Clemson? Either add a lady sport or subtract a men's sport. It is hard to add another sport when donations are down by $25 million and furloughs abound. So, which sport has 40 men? Only Track & Field, problem solved, as tough as it.
There may be another solution: change the regulations. Let me say i like and support women sports. BUT, lets make title nine a little less onerous! Forcing football, the golden goose, a sport of 120 men pay for opportunities for 120 women even though no one will pay to watch them seems unfair to me. How about the NCAA exempt sports that pay for themselves from the compliance numbers. If that could happen, I bet men's Track returns to Clemson.
