#STRecruiting: DL Rashan Gary working on those official visits

August 17, 2015 by Phil Kornblut

Official visits for the uncommitted (and some committed) are right around the corner and highly touted DL Rashan Gary of Paramus, NJ is in the process on deciding where he wants to visit. Clemson and USC were among his unofficial visits earlier in the year and the two are still in the conversation his mother said Monday.
“I hear him talk more about Clemson than South Carolina but he knows more about Clemson than South Carolina,” Jennifer Coney said. “That doesn’t mean South Carolina isn’t in the mix.”
Gary hears a lot about Clemson from his cousin Jerome Coney who is an assistant basketball coach at Anderson College. “My nephew goes to Clemson a lot,” Ms. Coney said. He’s also friends with Clemson freshman defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
Gary met last week with his coaches and advisers over the weekend to talk about official visits.
“They went over pros and cons, things he likes and what he wants to accomplish,” Ms.Coney said. “He will take his official visits and then decide. He’s got some scrimmages coming up and then he’ll decide on his official visits. In another week or two, he’ll have his officials.”
Ms. Coney said her son will consult with his parents and others close to him during the process but ultimately the decision will be left up to him. Some of his other offers include Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, Miami, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Hahaha Ol' Korncoot is seriously reaching to try and make it look like Gary has any interest in SCjr. There's zero chance he ends up there and maybe a 1% chance they receive an official. We might get one but I don't think we are major players for Gary currently.

This article just made me really excited.

I can almost hear what Korncoot asked...

'Are you really, really sure he hasn't said anything about USucK or Cootlumbia?'

Ok, I modified that stuff at the end, but that's what he was thinking

No, korncoot is already preparing a story of why usuc wasn't interested in a visit from Gary.

That'd be a huge pickup

Have Gary and Wilkins on inside with Huggins too. Amazing rotation.

Don't forget about Dexter Lawrence. Imagine if we snagged both of these guys.

Lawrence is far more likely than Gary at this point. Both are absolutely 100% oversign worthy so theoretically, we could see an embarrassment of riches at the DT/DE positions. If we get Lawrence on campus as planned, I'd imagine we become strong contenders if not outright leaders.

Yes.***

I'm imagining Gary, Huggins, Dexter Lawrence, and Wilkins on the same line... not counting probably Pinckney any everyone else already on board. Sheesh.
