Are you counting those calories? Lowering the calories in every meal will result in weight loss. Keep the total for the day below 900 and you will lose weight.

Your brain runs on glucose, we need carbs. Activity is the key to losing weight. There’s a 2000 minimum for a reason. A balanced diet with exercise is the only thing that works consistently. You’d be shocked what 45 minutes a day with heart rate over 120bpm will do. I started 225 with a high BMI. I couldn’t go longer than 15 minutes at the start. I got down to 175 in less than six months and back into 32 waist pants. I didn’t change my eating habits. I’ve always ate fresh foods never from a can with healthier cuts with lower fat content. Unless I smoke a rack of ribs or pork shoulder. Which is rare.

Nothing. We went to the Greenville Saturday Market downtown this morning with my daughter and granddaughter. We ate brunch at a place called Nose Dive in the Westin hotel. They had a grits bar. Grits and all kinds of stuff to mix in with them. Cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and a whole lot more. Also had biscuits and gravy or jelly. I highly recommend it if you like grits and a lot of stuff with them. Hard to beat for $15. I won’t eat again until at least tomorrow.

Stumbled across a thick cut pork chop in the freezer I had forgotten about
Nice free range Tamworth pork with a deep pink color (no “other white meat” here)

Since it was frozen, I lightly dusted it with some Memphis Mud and put it in sous vide at 130 deg F to slowly thaw and mingle the flavors around 1:30.

At 5:00 I moved it to the Woodfire XL for some time in pecan smoke at 195 deg F

At 5:30 I started a baked potato and rinsed some sauerkraut.

At 6:00 I glazed it with some Blues Hog Orginal and switched the Woodfire over to Air Fry mode to lightly caramelize the sauce and seal in the juices.

At 6:15 I sautéed the kraut on the grill next to the chop and had it all hot and ready to eat at 6:30.

Wish I had a fresh sliced tomato but it was delicious all the same. Might be the best pork chop I’ve made, and I’ve done some good ones if I do say myself.

Bonus - I was able to do it all under the fan in the back deck kitchen so I didn’t heat up the house.

Washed it down with some tropic mutant.

We went to one of the best restaurants in the area (Fayetteville, NC). I had the brisket and gravy over sweet sugar peas and sweet potato mash. Sazerac Rye on the rocks. My wife had honey glazed pork chop with pickled strawberries and goat cheese over garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Her cocktail was something far too sweet.
