CFB Playoff Committee will gain huge credibility if...

They have a top 4 of Miss St., FSU, Oregon, and TCU and put Bama at 5 or 6. TCU played a tougher opponent and won convincingly. Bama survived an ugly contest that featured a comedy of errors.
Not as if it hurts Bama. They can earn their way in next week if they are good enough.

If Bama beats Miss State, no way state falls below TCU

With Auburn losing,my guess is Oregon goes to #3,and Bama to #4.TCU,in my opinion, will not pass Bama.

at this point just hope Miss State wins out and they will be the only SEC team in the playoff. Then pull against them in the playoff

Last I heard AD Dan Radakovich was "laughing" on 1055 the roar about the notion that the TV talking heads had anything to do with the committee and whether or not any committee members consulted them and so forth. As far as I can tell, the committee has set the SEC up to only have 1 team get in regardless of ESecPN's perceived preference to the sec. Look at the first ranking where there was 3 of 4 teams in the sec with guaranteed match ups between all 3 of the schools. Once the playoffs roll around they will take "power 5" conference champions that qualify the most, comparatively, and go from there. Probably 5 years and hopefully less they take this go to the the power 5 conference champions and 3 at large teams are included in the 8 team playoff. This year will be the sec, acc, pac and big champ with whoever from the 'big' conference sells better.

There's lots of football to be played.
The SEC could end up being the odd man out.
The SEC West's best out of conference victory was Alabama's win over WVU at a neutral site.
How does that look now?

The winner between Alabama and Mississippi State is one of the four provided they win out after Nov 15th.
An 11-1 Mississippi State squad MAY still be one of the four ... same for a 12-1 Mississippi State team; a 10-2 Alabama team will be on the outside looking in.
Florida State - even if they fall to 12-1 - is in.
Oregon at 12-1 is in.
TCU and Baylor are both in IF - IF - they both finish 11-1 and Oregon finds a loss. I expect a Baylor loss coming up and TCU in as the Big Twelve Champion.
The bottom line, though, is that it is still so early that wild speculation is the norm ... and the above is simply some of that! Ohio State, even at 12-1, needs serious prayer.
