A nebulous term, but it embodies a certain "air" about a person, or a way of doing things that denotes a little flair, if you will. Stories with reasons why Brandon Streeter did not succeed as Offensive Coordinator will abound, and one aspect will always be that he was considered to be a "bargain basement option". This perception almost set him up for failure from the beginning. Would the kids listen to him? Would he be taken seriously, or would he be bashed at every turn? Judge for yourselves what happened there.

In Garrett Riley, we have the complete polar opposite of the Brandon Streeter hire. He is the winner of the Broyles Award as THE Top Assistant Coach in the country, just a few days ago. Dabo could not have MADE more of a "splash" hire at the position at this particular point in time. You could almost figure that plucking him away from TCU before an SEC school came along and gobbled him up is a real coup.

So, Garrett Riley certainly has that nebulously definable "cachet". Dabo has always done his due diligence about the "man" behind the coach, so it will be a pleasant voyage of discovery to see how Riley fits into the Clemson "culture" that Dabo is so jealously protective of. Buckle up, because this rocket ship has passed the bottom of the loop now, and the trajectory from here is up, up, and away once again.

I predict great results from this change. Our offense had become predictable, and quite frankly, stale with little imagination. It just seemed like Tony Elliot, yet again, and I didn't think he was a dynamic O.C., at all. Let's hope this guy is what we need to fix this team and get us back in the Championship mode.
