We 3 last Clemson fans stayed to watch Cal people celebrate and scream repeatedly that they had beaten aSouthern Redneck Power..

and then preceded to give them our caps, badges & paw wrist flags so they would have souvenirs (aka scalps) to take back to Cali.

Yep what a dud game and to think our QB scored game’s 1st points on a long TD run, i believe.

I was only a young 51~ LOL.

SR year at Clemson. Hungover, I decided at the last moment to make make the arduous 50 mile drive from the parents homestead in Daytona.. Stayed until the end of the game and hung out with the other last two remaining Clemson fans.

One of the dudes I’d estimate was around 50 and wore an oversized orange T-shirt that said “cOmE sCreW my LigHtbULbBiLl”. I ignored the shirt but could tell he was dying to tell me the meaning of the inside joke. I bid him and the other Clemson fan goodbye.

That evening around 11pm I saw him down at Church Street Station inside Phineas Phogg's double fisted with a pitcher of Pabst Blue Ribbon in each hand. Never seen a man with a smile that big.

I had friends on that team. They had a big PJ party the night before and there were a lot of hungover players for that early game. Not an excuse though.
