They added 11 transfers in the December window. The truth is he has recruited well but also uses the portal to fill gaps. They did lose 17 to the portal so it makes sense to replace those with experience the portal offers.

BV understands what CFB has evolved into and adjusted. Hope we can get in there in the off-season and pick up 3 or 4 guys who can help us at minimum.

BV had to use the portal because he cleaned house when he got there. They had 30+ players transfer out due to BV either changing the player type, getting rid of bad eggs or players not wanting to play BV style of ball.

There was a really good interview with BV at beginning of season discussing the transfers out of the program. BV even said the AD was questioning some decisions but they were now on the same page. Also said he would use portal as needed but he believes in recruiting and developing HS players over chasing the portal. Sounded similar to Dabo's beliefs in the interview.

different environment completely from someone like Dabo using or not using the portal.
