Simply put the SEC is likely getting 4 teams in. To me there should be limits like no more than 3 teams per conference. And also 10-2 should be the cut off no team with a 9-3 record should be in the playoffs. The only conference this playoff system favors as it stands today is the SEC.

They have a 99% chance to get 5. When this new 12 team playoff deal was in the making, Sanky and Petti got what they wanted. It was a take it or leave it threat and everyone took it.
The fact is the SEC/BIG have 90% of the best cfb teams. So, they should get 90% of the CFP spots. If they added FSU, CLEMSON, ND, MIAMI, AND UNC THEY WOULD HAVE 100% of the best CFB TEAMS.
HARD TO ARGUE AGAINST THOSE 2 CONFERENCES CONTROLLING THE CFB LANDSCAPE. IF CLEMSON WAS IN THE SEC, WE WOULD BE SUPPORTING WHAT SANKY WANTS.

I agree that 3 from any conference is plenty, but SEC and B10 will never agree to that!
Many people think Skanky is a great commissioner. He may be a great SEC commissioner, but he is terrible for college football as a whole!

So many crybabies on this board about the SEC. The top 4-5 SEC teams would easily beat any ACC team, if you matched us up 1v1, 2v2, etc the ACC would be lucky to win 2-3 games. Our conference is garbage, run by garbage leadership, and full of garbage schools that have 3/4 empty stadiums and antiquated facilities. We need to get out and join one of the two power conferences where the bad teams and empty seats are the exception vs the norm.

You obviously know nothing about college football. If you have watched any games this year you would realize anybody can beat anybody. The mighty sec had Florida almost beat Georgia with a 2nd string qb… Florida is .500 and also got smashed by Miami… bama got beat by 2 .500 teams also. Don’t talk all mighty about the sec bc they are nothin special

Lol so much anger and misinformation in a single post. Vandy is 6-4, TN is 8-2, I’m not sure if you know how division works, but both of those yield higher than .500.
And yes Florida hung in there but still lost by 2 touchdowns to the #3 ranked SEC team. So again match up 1v1 2v2 and so on the ACC isn’t winning many games. Our conference is garbage, we get paid $20m less per team than the big 2, and we need to get out.
Why on earth would anyone WANT to stay in this garbage conference? Wouldn’t you rather have regular games vs regional teams that treat gameday like we do and create fantastic away game atmospheres vs going to tailgate in desolate parking lots and sit in a half empty high school stadium?

I forgot Tennessee beat bama I was thinking it was Arkansas… another .500 team who gave Texas a pretty good game and beat Tennessee?
And I can’t stand the sec I would much rather stay in the acc if they could come up with the money somehow… I know Clemson can’t wait much longer but if your asking ya screw the sec. They are the reason college sports are what they are now.

The only way the ACC comes up with the money to let us stay equal with real football is to drop other teams to almost no media money which won’t happen. And again, away games are a joke in the ACC, I’ve been to quite a few and FSU is the only one that comes close to our gameday atmosphere, let alone the abysmal stadiums they play in

They have that B10 logo on their chests… the B10 would start a riot.

but so will 4 from the Big 10. If Indy and PA St each finish with only one loss, they're both getting in That leaves only one spot from ACC, one from Big 12 and one G5.

and award the sec preseason champ the national title. because the sec rankings are al based on the hypothetical " these 6 sec teams would be undefeated in any other conference"...yeah and bama is going to beat vandy as well........the playoff was put in place to have it play out on the field. now its turned into ignoring the sec regular season losses and give them all the spots..im guess one year they get in 3-4 then the whining will occur leading to a 16 team playoff.. then they will want 8-9 guaranteed slots each season. in which the other conference leaders will agree with of course.

has a real shot of winning the national championship anyways, so who cares who is in and who is out, and how many are from each conference. There’s maybe 6-7 teams that have a real chance. The rest is just a money grab.

Disagree. The 12 best teams should get into the playoff regardless of conference affiliation. That's what fans deserve. Automatic bids for conference champs is lame IMO. Give me the 12 best teams going to war with each other. That's what fans want to see. Not Indiana getting their teeth kicked in by an SEC team.
