Building a champion.....

Jul 22, 2012, 8:21 AM

Well I never was a Bowden fan but I do think he was a good guy . Dabo however, has proven to be an excellent hire. He continues to make the right moves . He isn't perfect but clearly he is headed in an upward trajectory . He recruits well too because the product he is marketing is real and authentic. I don't think all the talk about whether the acc will be able to find a seat at the new playoff table will matter soon. I think, this will turn quickly into another discussion. The tide of college football is about to shift yet again. And I believe the Clemson dynasty is about to be born. Not just a solid program but a culture or winning that can rival most anyone. The acc may find itself in a much better position than some predict. Clemson might realistically win more than one national title this decade. And even though we layed an egg and gave up 70 in the orange bowl... I get the feeling we might be doing a lot of hanging ourselves in the seasons to come. The recruits coming in now can clearly see the future here is bright because it truly is. There is no fantasy here, but there is a building of something great. I think the terms Clemson and juggernaut might end up being used in the same sentence a lot in the years to come . Get ready !

I agree. I think the biggest difference between Bowden and Dabo is this: Bowden had some good ideas to help Clemson get better, Dabo has a vision of what it takes for Clemson to be great.

Good post......I agree. I think the decade under Bowden

pretty much killed any respect we had. We were consistently mediocre at best. I think Dabo is getting us that respect back, but as you can see, it ain't happening over night. Example: Under Dabo, we've won 2 division and 1 conference titles in the past 3 years, and yet, the "pundits" still tout almighty FSU year in and year out. We need to whoop 'em again this year and maybe that'll shut 'em up and we can get back to be a respected team on a national level.

I agree, but back then I think a lot of people, nationally,

was waiting/expecting us to get right back to the glory years. Under a decade with Bowden, they pretty much wrote us off.

A post grounded in reality. Enough of this negative BS I read on Tigernet.
