Bryant injury

Oct 25, 2017, 8:22 AM

Maybe wrong but why if his leg was injured in the wake game did he not at least wear a leg brace to protect his already injured leg from more damage. Would that have hampered his run game? Watson wore a brace !most of his career after his acl injury. Just seems it should have been protected from further abuse.

Wasnt a knee or upper leg injury. was an ankle injury. not much to do for a sprain. they tape it really really heavy and thats it. no bulky brace to put on it and be able to wear cleats or move around.

Injury was to his ankle and it was heavily taped.

I think it may be more of a high ankle sprain. The coaches have said it’s low but that’s all I can figure. Was odd for sure

There actually are ankle braces - some go inside the shoe and some over. They can also be taped over the brace so you don’t even see it. When you see the really bulky looking tape jobs there is usually a brace underneath.

well yeah obviously. but none as bulky as the knee braces they put on. with high ankle sprains not much to do for them.

I had a high ankle sprain a couple of years ago and it took me a full year to fully recover. I opt for active recovery so it does take a little longer ... and I'm old, so ... there's that.

High ankle sprains can take up to 6 months to fully recover, but I'm sure Bryant has access to advanced technology that promotes a faster healing process. At a minimum I'd think 6 weeks with a resting recovery. But I'm no expert.

I suppose we should believe CDS when he says it's not a high sprain though.
