I always respected Brad for living on the edge because I know how exciting it can be. Should I finish, hold on, keep going, go harder, slow down, let it go? Being on that edge is way more enjoyable than just going in and out and meeting the expectations of everyone watching.
Anyhow, I’ve mastered the routine of being a mediocre boyfriend and coming up clutch just before being dumped in March by rallying and finding an elite coupon for Applebees on Valentine’s Day. Not many guys start scouring the darkweb for questionably legal coupons far enough in advance to pull that off.
But just like Brad advancing to the Elite 8, I am always the same guy the day after that awesome Valentine’s Day all you can eat and drink smorgasbord where I end up passed out on my neighbors porch couch with a uncooked hotdog in my hand as I was before.
I’m afraid if we keep Brad we will end up being like Notre Dame fans saying “remember that one time in 2024” thirty-six years from now.

Great analogies of course. Much appreciated insight. Something to think about. On a side note, at least you never forget Valentine's Day.

Why don’t you go root for the chickens. You’d fit in well with them.

Well, the key to your post is your admission that apparently you have no long term relationship to ground you. I hope if that is the path you chose you will be happy. Our basketball program is on solid ground and Coach Brownell is a really good coach. Hopefully, we will be able to get some players in the Portal and have another great year next year.

Hopefully counseling will help you with your “not so love life” .. enjoy the moment and the run our team is on. No one or nothing is perfect, expecting perfection from anything will only lead you to more disappointments.
