us to believe that last nights clunker was perfectly fine, we get to rest up now before the NCAA Tournament begins. But, as another poster has already correctly pointed out, that loss was DEVASTATING to our NET ranking, and rightfully so. Now, just as last year, we have to sit and hope and pray that the outcome of other conference tournament games within our OWN conference does not push other teams above us in the NET. And, we once again play the waiting game of hoping bubble teams elsewhere also do not advance.

Only Brad Brownell could have taken a team this talented, and put them in this position. He evidently, through his VAST knowledge of how the NET works, decided about two thirds of the way through the season that we had done more than enough to clinch a bid, and put the team in neutral at that point. I don't want to hear about injuries, etc, that is so much rubbish when you look at what we have been seeing on the floor the past few games. Mostly it is just guys chucking up threes, or going one on one. I cannot even RECALL the last time a saw a "set play" to get someone open for an easy look at a shot, or a layup. We do not HAVE an offensive game plan. It is just, as I have said all along, five guys freelancing. When it works, we win, when it doesn't, we lose. No help from our Head Coach to get us successfully through those off nights when a win was still achievable.

And as far as offensive rebounding? Now THAT is a truly foreign concept to Brad Brownell, I don't think he knows how to coach it. He should watch other coaches in our own conference and try to learn something, they certainly do a fine job of it against us. Nearly ALL our possessions are one shot and done, headed back down the floor whether it went in or not.

The Clemson team that showed up last night bears absolutely no resemblance to the team that won all those impressive early OOC games, which basically is what is holding our resume together by a thread right now. Most, if not all those teams we beat are going to make the Tournament. Their trajectory has not taken a nosedive, as has ours. That is the world under Brad Brownell. He cannot stand prosperity. If there is no angst, he will create some.

I have a very bad feeling about our NCAA Tourney chances right now. Getting blown out as badly as we did, in our FIRST opportunity to advance, once again, by a team that really isn't even considered a bubble team, is going to fuel the narrative that we don't belong in the Tourney on the endless talk shows. You just know it is. They already keep saying the ACC is going to only get 4 teams in at most. Right now, we are set to be on the outside, looking in, yet again. Every year, good bubble teams make a push to get themselves into the Tourney. And every year, none of those teams is named CLEMSON. Under Brad Brownell, the last third of a season is almost always scary. Can you say PLAY-IN GAME, Boys and Girls? At this point, we would be wise to root for that. It might be the only way we make the Dance now.

Fire Brad Brownell. No hatred, no malice. Just a heartfelt, genuine request from someone who actually cares about Clemson basketball getting better in the future.
