Braves in trouble again??

Will these dang Philles put the Braves out again? This expanded playoff puts less emphasis on winning the divisions. They have added days off during the NLDS tbat allows the wildcard winners to rest and reset thier rotations. Talk about a slap to the division winners. Phillies are hot again and Braves pitching has become erratic. If they bow out in tbe next round, expect major shake-ups with the Braves in the off-season. Fried will not be retained, Morton is retiring, and tbe need for 2 top tier starters for the rotation will require them to trade away major pieces. Yes I know...Wrong forum!!

How stupid it is to attribute being scared or not scared of a team to fans… who don’t take the field and don’t play the game.
There was nothing incorrect about my statement, and I’m not scared of the Phillies because I don’t have to play them.

Okay then, how about this: If you’re a hand wringing, glass half full, nattering na bob of negativity, let the hand wringing and nattering begin.
Sorry to have inadvertently insulted your intelligence. Actually, I had considered including a comment to the effect that as I was not actually playing, I’m neither worried or scared.
Play Ball!
GO BRAVES!!

I can’t believe a Braves fan is complaining. Every young player has signed a well below market deal and you’ve had unprecedented success over the last 25-30 years.

"Unprecedented success?" Two championships in 25-30 years? I can, but won't, make a list a mile long of teams from both leagues that have more championships in a shorter period of time. Just one. The Yankees won 29 pennants and 20 World Series from 1921 to 1964.

Dodgers have the best record in baseball since the AS break

And the 2nd best run differential for the season. It's not going to be an easy path for the Braves.

I hope so. Then I hope the Phils dip out immediately after. Then I hope the Braves never sign another player to a sweetheart deal that no other club in baseball would get from their stars.

Makes it more interesting and cuts out the number of teams who have meaningless seasons when they barely miss out on the playoffs

Can someone explain why the Phils are playing the Braves and not the Dodgers. Phils record is better than the Diamondbacks record. Braves record is better than the Dodgers. Seems to me that the opponents out of the wildcard games would have been the opposite.

I’ll try to. Braves and Dodgers got byes as the #1 and #2 seeds. Milwaukee won their division so there the #3, Philly got the #4, Miami got the #5 with the tie breaker over Arizona who got the #6th.
Braves get Philly LA gets Arizona

Agree bbrown, and wondered the same. Isn’t the bonus for being the top seed is getting to play the lowest seed?
Perhaps there is a silver lining here, though. By eliminating them in the NLDS, the Phillies don’t get the benefit of playing the Dodgers, a lesser/easier team, and building up more momentum.
GO BRAVES!!!

Agree, it should be similar to the NFL where the #1 seed faces the lowest seed remaining after the wildcard matchups which would be the Diamondbacks in this case.
