but now I'd almost rather head up into the mountains. The beach is nice, but to me it's just sand and surf and women in swimsuits. Who wants to see that? (raises hand)
The mountains have more and different trees, streams, rivers, waterfalls, trails; you can get a natural high (pun intended). But you live in mountainous Virginia, so you see that all the time I guess.

I have an appreciation for both. I've been to the mountains in Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Lookout Mountain (Tennessee/Georgia). I also lived at the foot of some mountain in Korea as a young child.
But, for me, there's just something about the beach. I'm a beach bum. I like to find the ones that are not crowded, and just sit back and relax.

I like both as well. I grew up on the coast in the Lowcountry and lived for 10 years in Miami and 2.5 years on St Thomas. So I’ll take a waterfall in the mountains any time over the beach these days.

If you find one that isn’t crowded please let us know. Love the beach though now go in the off season to avoid the too many yankees invading our shores during the summer ..
